A stop at the Shrimp Station, or Island Tacos, for lunch will make the wait worthwhile, finished off with the island’s best sno cones at Jo-Jo Shave ice.

Nice beach house, looks out over the water- comfy and clean. Host was flexible and great to work with! The actual beach was only about a 5 minute walk to an uncrowded beach. House has A/C window units but we really only used the bedroom ones at night.
Great beach house! We had a great time. The area was close to Waimea Canyon. Beach was very close and area was quiet and laid back. Our host Scott was excellent to communicate with and very caring. We truly enjoyed our stay!
Loved the house - it was outfitted with everything we could need. Quiet location away from tourist spots. Beautiful views from the front deck. The beach in front of the house was just rocks, so you had to walk down to Kekaha Beach Park to go to the beach.
Great place to stay, beach right down the street and easy Waimea access. Could use a JO JOs shaved ice in the yard … maybe next time. would stay here again absolutely.
The property was exactly as advertised and very clean. The beach gear was a great perk. Would definitely recommend this property for any couples vacation.
This home was perfect for our family's visit. The beach view from the porch was amazing, and the beach park was a short five minute walk. It worked out great, and I would definitely recommend this property!
Loved it. The best rental house I have been in on Hawaii. Thank you for a great stay!

I am so happy you enjoyed your stay. It is a great spot by the beach, with great sunsets, and plenty of activities to watch out on the ocean.
We hope to see you again.

A must stay location, has everything you need and more.Clean Location, you can’t beat it, watch whales from the deck. Walk down the road to your own beach area.
This place is great! The host responded quickly and positively to all of our queries and requests. Including one regarding fragrance allergies. Thanks Scott! I was initially concerned about the nearness of the road and breakwater just beyond it but the easy walk to the lovely nearby beach more than made up for it. Be sure to visit nearby Hanapepe. A small art community. The swinging bridge is fun but so are the shops and people. The location is not central to Kauai tourist zones but day trips around the island are easy.
The view is the best part of this house! A short 10 minute walk and you are at the beach....we enjoyed wave jumping and lounging in the sand. The A/C in the house isn't super strong, but worked well enough for us. This side of the island gets super hot so you definitely need it. The house was fully stocked in the kitchen (I love it when people leave condiments, spices, zip lock bags), laundry soup, beach towels, and there were plenty of beach chairs/toys/umbrellas. No shampoo and conditioner though....so bring your own! There are no restaurants, shops, hotels in the area - so just an FYI for your food planning. We stopped at Costco and Safeway on our way in and bought all we needed.
We really enjoyed watching the sunsets every night from the porch! The house had everything we needed! Really appreciated the beach chairs and cooler!!
Easily accommodated 6 guests. Loved that we were so close to Waimea Canyon and Polihale.....one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen (make sure you have 4wd)
This was actually our second stay at this home. We loved it so much the first time, we came back, and we plan to visit again next year! The pictures on the listing don't quite do it justice. It has had a few updates in the furnishings since those were taken. This house has everything you need for a great vacation. The kitchen has plenty of pots, pans, appliances and dishes. We enjoyed having breakfast and dinner on the lanai that overlooks the water. The view is pretty hard to beat! There are beach chairs, an umbrella, boogie boards and snorkeling gear that you can take to the beach, which is very conveniently located about 2 minutes drive or 10 minute walk from the house. There is also a really beautiful secluded beach that can be reached if you have 4WD, but sadly it was closed during this visit due to recent flooding (Polihale Beach). There is an outdoor shower below the lanai for washing the sand off when you get home from the beach. If you're a reader, like I am, don't miss out on the selection of books in the drawers below the living room television. Kekaha is a lovely little town, with far less tourists than Hanalei, Princeville, Lihue and Poipu so if you like a lowkey, slower pace, this is for you. Waimea provides several restaurants and a grocery store and is about 10 minutes drive. Waimea Canyon is also nearby and worth seeing. This is our home away from home and definitely worth a visit!
This property fit our needs perfecrly and then some! Well stocked home - owner does a great job of anticipating visitors' needs. The view is spectacular - saw whales, dolphins and fish jumping from the lanai. We would absolutely stay here again if the chance eagain!
We all really enjoyed our stay! Wonderful ocean views and sunsets. Spacious and comfortable house with everything we needed for a special vacation in Kauai. Thank you.

About the host
Hosted by Scott Worner
I have traveled all over the world, but home is on Oahu.
Why they chose this property
I lived in this town on Kauai as a young child, and always wanted to return to the place of my wonderful childhood memories.
What makes this property unique
Living at the beach in Kekaha is an authentic Hawaiian experience. This old sleepy plantation town is 'at the end of the road'. This is the farthest western town in the USA. It is also the driest and most likely sunny spot on the island., This is were a 15 mile stretch of white sand beach begins and ends, at Polihale Beach and the cliffs of the Na Pali Coast. The town is also at the base of the Waimea Canyon, named the 'Canyon of the Pacific' by Mark Twain. Breathtaking canyon scenery and numerous hiking opportunities await you. Beautiful sunsets over the ocean can only be seen from this part of the island. Views of the island of Ni'ihau, and whale watching in the Winter season right from your lanai.
