JUST ADDED THREE WEEKS IN AUGUST! BOOK NOW BEFORE THEY"RE GONE!

Recently renovated, this charming & comfortable cottage in the heart of downtown Lewes has a new look! In addition to all the wonderful features, such as the beautiful screened in porch, we have added a family room off the kitchen with a large sectional sofa & gas fireplace. It's already the favorite room of all our families who have been visiting us for years. And, it's brought amazing light to the kitchen and new breakfast area. We also added a full bath downstairs, a separate laundry room, and a new outdoor shower.

From our convenient location, you can enjoy all that Lewes has to offer. Walk to shops and restaurants in town, or relax after a day at the beach on the large screened in back porch. It's only a short drive to Cape Henlopen State Park and Rehoboth Beach.
High speed internet access included in rental.

Lovely cottage! Obviously well-loved and cared for by owner. Cheryl was very good at communicating with us. Location was perfect! Could ride bikes to beach, walk to town, and access bike trail easily. Bonus, the sky lights brought in natural light and the kitchen is well-equipped. We will look for opportunities to stay here again in the future.

Our family of four plus a pup had an amazing time at this perfect home. Plenty of room to spread out but also so cozy and charming. Easy walk into town and a short drive to the beach. And Cheryl, the owner, was so welcoming and checked in before and after our stay. Would absolutely stay here again.

Great cottage in historic Lewes

We loved this cottage and would definitely stay here again. Nice features: well stocked kitchen, comfy sitting area off the kitchen, nice breakfast nook, great screened porch, outdoor shower and back yard, professionally decorated throughout, and nice feeling of privacy. lovely historic Lewes Beach house

his house is even prettier and more spacious than indicated in the listing. We were four couples of two age ranges, including parents of three of the principals. The house is well equipped and beautifully kept, with all conveniences we could think of. Short bike ride to the middle of town and to LewesBeach, and only about 4 miles from Cape Henlopen state park, beach pier, etc.

A wonderful stay for the whole family

What a beautiful and peaceful home to stay in. The home is perfectly laid out for a stay where even my older mother in law was able to stay without feeling left out. She stayed in the first floor bedroom and had everything she needed- my teen aged grand daughters had all the privacy they needed in the kids room upstairs. We all gathered for card games on the enclosed porch at night and created memories for years to come. Easy walk into town for dinner. Kitchen is fully stocked and very clean. There were many areas for people to hang out in the house. Will definitely stay here again- highly recommended!

Most cozy, charming and well appointed place I have EVER stayed! So much attention to detail. The kitchen had everything you could want too. The house feels like a hug. Splendid, relaxing cottage

What a special place! Our group of 5 ranged from under 2 years old to over 65 and each of us found so much to love about this adorable cottage. Our toddler had a ball walking up and down the path in the garden, picking up leaves, and hearing the crickets. The screen porch was such a peaceful and refreshing space to hang out in late September, and we also made great use of the outdoor shower. Beautifully appointed, comfortable home with tons of charm, and lovely family photos adorning the walls made us feel so at home. Only a stone's throw into town! Would 100% stay again. Memorable week together!

Our time together in Lewes, DE was all that we had hoped for! A week surrounded by family in a property designed for comfort and quality time spent together, our Summer 2024 holiday was one we won't soon forget. We made full use of the excellent kitchen, dining spaces, and family room throughout the week. We cooked in each night and enjoyed dinner together on the screened in porch. Although the property had a historic feel, the kitchen and amenities were modern and accomodating! We would like to thank our host Cheryl for an excellent week! Thank you, Jim

Best place to stay in Lewes

Our vacation was amazing! The house is incredible. The location is perfect. You can walk into town, to Dairy Queen, and Scoops, and to the beach. The house is beautiful. The rooms and beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms are very nice too. The kitchen is well stocked, functional, and open so the cook can enjoy themselves too. The grill is so nice! We had fabulous BBQ one night. The yard, front porch, and back deck are great. The owner is responsive and very nice. Stop looking and pick this place! It's really something special.

Lovely summer retreat!

I have been staying at this home for the past 10 summers and it's fantastic! Cheryl has continued to make changes over the years that make a great home even better. I love and value my time here and am grateful to Cheryl for sharing her wonderful home. While we are here, we walk into town to the coffee shop, restaurants and shopping; enjoy afternoons at the bay/ocean; kayak and SUP; bike on the amazing trails to Rehoboth; do yoga outside at the beach and canal park; shop at the outlets; listen to live music in Dewey; enjoy the nature and history of Cape Henlopen; and get our fill of boardwalk treats in Rehoboth. It is the perfect escape!

Exceeded our expectations! We loved our vacation here

First of all, working with Cheryl was such a pleasure. She was so responsive, flexible, and understanding. Her home is clean, comfortable, inviting, and so full of character. There are so many super comfortable places to hang out. The kitchen is really well equipped unlike so many other vacation rentals. It's an easy walk to town for restaurants and shopping. Walk the other direction for a few minutes and your at Station on Kings, a wonderful cafe and bakery. It's so easy to get anywhere from here. We went to different beaches, Cape Henlopen State Park, Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge, and lots of towns like Rehobeth, Bethany, and Milton. Of all the vacation homes we've ever stayed in, my wife says this is the best one ever! So glad we found it. Highly recommended

The Gem of Them All

Sigh.... I'm torn to write this review as I feel like I'm giving up a secret that I want to keep to myself forever .... But that just wouldn't be fair to Cheryl ... So as much as it pains me ... I will divulge. In a nutshell, stay here. It's perfect. Cheryl is beyond amazing (even if she does favor Martha's Vineyard) ;), her house is incredible, location is outstanding. Set in the historic district, we took walks into town to savor baked goods for breakfast, took the car out for the 3 minute (if that) ride to the beach and enjoyed calling this our "home away from home" for a few days. It was perfection (did I say that already)?!?! It was great for the kids and adults alike. The screened in porch was a family favorite. The breakfast nook was used daily. The kids hideaway bedroom was the icing on the cake. It was such a delight and decorated to a T. In fact, I need Cheryl to help me decorate my own home after seeing how well she did with hers! :). Our family will most certainly be a repeat year after year at Cheryl's house. We will look. No. Further. I strongly suggest you do the same. Sigh....now that the cats out of the bag ... But in all seriousness, our search for the perfect Lewes house has ended. Thank you Cheryl!!!!

Wonderful home and location!

We really enjoyed our time at this property. The location was wonderful... Within walking distance to the bike trail, parks, and downtown. The home was beautifully decorated and very clean. Beautiful home

Enjoyed staying here: the home is gorgeous / loved the screened in porch and spent most of time there with my pups reading and relaxing. Very peaceful and great walking factor. Close to area attractions and though a short drive to the beach, it was totally doable. Hope to return.

A perfect location

The property is in the older section of Lewis. Lovely neighborhood and an easy walk or bike ride to downtown... and just as easy to pick up the bike trail for longer rides. House was perfect for a group of friends. It was cozy and had a very well equipped kitchen.

Kings Cottage - A Home, Not a House!

Our stay at this beautiful home in the heart of the Historic District was the best in over 20 years of renting in Lewes! Upon entering, we immediately felt like we entered a home, not a house. Kings Cottage has everything you will need or want. It is beautifully decorated, yet comfortable and welcoming. Cheryl, the owner, will quickly answer any questions you might have - I felt that she really wanted us to have a great time — and we did!

We had been vacationing in Lewes for years before we finally found our 'cozy cottage by the sea' over 15 years ago. We have grown to love Lewes, and have enjoyed bringing friends and showing them the charm of Second Street, Henlopen State Park, a nd the fabulous shopping and restaurants the area has to offer. Lewes has so many great restaurants, and the kids love to be able to walk to town, eat pizza at Half Full, and end a wonderful day at the beach with King's Ice Cream.

Why they chose this property

The wonderful screened in back porch sold us immediately! We spend hours out there hanging out, drinking coffee, reading, and playing games. The private back yard with the beautiful flowers and trees is so relaxing. We have families who have been coming back year after year, and they feel as at home there as we do.

The kids love the upstairs bedroom with the built in beds! They hide out there, and play for hours. We love the serenity of the house, and the ability to really relax and enjoy our time there with family and friends. We have created many memories here over the years, and hope you will too.

Being in town has been wonderful - we can all walk to shopping, restaurants, and the pond a few blocks away. Lewes is a hidden gem, and close to Rehoboth, outlet shopping, and many other amenities, if you are looking for some more fun things to do while you're here.
