We were staying in this home when the 2026 Nor’easter came through and washed out the road off the island. The owner was extremely accommodating and let us stay until we could get off the island. He called every day to make sure everything was going OK and offered advice on the ferry systems. In contrast, we were talking to many people who got kicked out of the house they were staying in with nowhere to go. I would definitely give them my business again! I can’t say enough about how great the owner was to work with!

We had a great week at Tranquility! Tom was an ideal host, communicative and friendly. We loved the well-worn but well-kept property, especially the screened in porch. The beach is a short walk away with an easy access trail through the dunes. Excellent fishing and surfing! The weather kept us inside most of the week so we took advantage of the open kitchen to create wonderful family dinners. Especially enjoyed the outdoor shower!

The host was great to work with. He was very attentive and reliable. He took the time to reach out on several occasions to ensure everything was going great. The home was very clean and well taken care of. There was everything available that we needed. And what wasn't, the host made it a point to let us know; like we needed to bring our own linen. The location was perfect. Right in the middle of Waves and a short walk to the beach. There is only one thing that future renters should know is that there is no bathroom on the main level. But that did help get our steps in :) Would rent again.

Nice home away from home!

We enjoyed the house and the location was just a short walk to the beach. We also enjoyed the sound-side which was great for smaller children and just a short drive away. Tom was easy to contact and work with. We had a great stay.

Home away from home

Tranquility Cottage felt like a home away from home for myself, my wife, and our son. We love vacationing in the Outer Banks, particularly the Waves/Salvo/Rodanthe area. We appreciated the family atmosphere of the rental and the communication with Tom.

Very peaceful stay

The property is in a very nice location and very clean. Short walk to beach and plenty of ramp assesses close by for more peaceful beach days. Communication from owner was best I’ve had while using app. It was a Perfect getaway!

Beautiful

The house was absolutely beautiful, it was so peaceful amd quiet. We were able to walk to the beach but choose to drive on the ramps and loved it. Will definitely try to stay in thos house again!!!
