Serenity on the Sound

Relax and enjoy spectacular soundfront sunsets from your own private dock and a 5-minute walk to the beach at this soundfront home in the Sanderling community located on the north end of Duck. The attractions of both Duck Village and Corolla are just a few minute's drive. This cottage is an oasis and perfect base for you Outer Banks adventures. Beautiful waterfront views and fun abound in this bright, open, four-bedroom, 2.5-bath house complete with a kayak, bikes, and beach gear.

The second-floor entry level features all 4 bedrooms - one queen bedroom, one bedroom with two twin beds, one bedroom with a single over double size bunk bed, and the master suite. There is a shared full bath on this level as well. The master suite has amazing sound views, direct access to the second-level deck, and an en-suite full bathroom with a jetted whirlpool tub and shower.

The third level of the home features the living areas - a fully equipped kitchen, dining area with seating for six at the large dining room table with an additional two seats at the bar, a large, comfortable living room, and deck access with 180-degree sound views.

Please note before booking. We are located in a nature preserve and Audubon bird sanctuary.
We and our HOA are dedicated to respecting the environment and natural ecology of our surroundings. Along with this comes the indigenous flora and fauna of being on the waters of the Currituck Sound in the woods. This does mean we will have some spiders and flying insects outside. They cannot be prevented even with the most fastidious practices or aggressive use of pesticides, which we avoid as it would be detrimental to our fragile environment and unique ecology. If you are particularly averse to nature, including insects, this may not be the rental for you.

(Use of any provided amenities is at the guests’ own risk. While we do regular maintenance on bicycles, etc., we are not responsible for equipment failures and as such refunds will not be given in that unfortunate circumstance.)

The Town of Duck lends itself to classic family beach vacations in all communities. Uncomplicated and free of strip malls, busy multi-lane highways, and neon lights, it’s easy to fall into step with this slow-paced environment and to focus on why you’re there and with whom you’re sharing such a special vacation.

The Sanderling Community

Behind the “Sanderling” entrance sign is a nature path that leads to a dock for launching a kayak, canoe or SUP on to the Currituck Sound. You may also bring along a fishing pole. You’ll see a variety of native bird species, seasonal nesting ospreys as well as magnificent sunsets. Sanderling is truly a sound to sea community.

Sanderling also has a series of nature paths that meander throughout our community where you may walk, bird watch and observe the beautiful landscape that is uniquely Sanderling.

*Please note that we are not members of the Sanderling Swim and Racquet Club.

*We DO NOT have a hot tub! There is a glitch in VRBO that keeps adding hot tubs to properties automatically.

*Parking is limited and the driveway is partially shared with the neighboring house. We have room for 3 vehicles maximum. .Do not use any part of the driveway that is not directly in front of our house.

*There is a Ring security camera doorbell monitoring the main entrance to the house..
