Paia is convenient to the airport but a world away in culture and vibe. We have a 2-minute walk to a secluded beach, and a 1-minute walk to Mama's Fish House, one of the highest-rated restaurants on the island. A 1/4 mile drive to Ho'okipa Beach, one of the world's highest-rated destinations for wind kite/ board sports. Also a nice surf break.
On Hana Hwy, the top drive for waterfalls and hiking options. A day trip to Hana is always recommended.
Paia also is known for great art and shopping.

Kuau Plaza

Great location! Easy drive to local shops, restaurants and beaches. Perfect starting spot for road to Hana, Black sand beach and both entrances of the national park.

Perfect starting point for our adventures

There were 5 of us, all adults, so having two bedrooms and the hide-a-bed was perfect. The kitchen was great and helped us save a bit of money; we shopped at Safeway and made breakfast and lunches most days rather than going out all the time. Local beach access was fun, but there were plenty of other great beaches within a short drive so we tried most of them. Great jump off point for the road to Hana as well.

Best condo in the plaza

We are former Kuau residents and like to stay near our old home to visit friends nearby, so we've rented at the Plaza before (a few times). This is a GREAT condo. So well looked after. Really lovingly put together with nice finishes. Everything you could need (including all the kitchen things you need to actually cook and serve meals - which is often hard to come by). And the ground floor access is key to the walk-in/walk-out Beach feeling. Especially great with little kids because you can just open the door and let them run off their jet lag on the big open lawn. The owners were great communicators and we will definitely be returning.
