About this property

Excellent Family Getaway off Crockett Creek Lake while enjoying Nature

This fully furnished home has a wood-burning fireplace, cable, water, an outdoor fire pit, and a grill that can be used as propane or charcoal. It also has high-speed internet with 2 seating areas.

This beautifully updated house is a gem. It has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Relax on the front porch or back deck and enjoy the stillness of nature. It is easy to walk down to the community's dock. You can fish or swim right off the dock and enjoy a great view of the lake. There is a super Walmart in both Eatonton and Milledgeville. Kroger, Publix, and ALDI's are nearby.

There are several golf courses located nearby, along with pickleball courts. The city of Eatonton is 15 miles from the house, 22 miles to Milledgeville, 20 miles to Greensboro, and 32 miles to Madison. Bring your own boat or jet skis, or hire a fishing guide for bass, catfish, or crappies.

For guests with children, a 15-minute drive separates you from Oconee Springs Park, a family campground and waterpark that features a sandy beach, playground, volleyball court, paddleboats, waterslide, blob, and water trampoline. Outside guests (non-campers) can purchase a daily park pass for endless fun under the sun, and we know that your little ones will be delightfully exhausted at the end of the day.

Less than 30 minutes away are the towns of Eatonton (visit Uncle Remus Museum) and Greensboro, home to Sinclair's twin-separated-by-dam, Lake Oconee. Both of these areas have historic downtown districts, various dining and retail options, and seasonal farmers' markets, festivals, and events that highlight the easygoing lifestyle of Lake Country.

For true Southern culture, look no further than the largest city on Lake Sinclair. Milledgeville is a trove of history, having served as the state capital of Georgia from 1803-1863 and now as host to Georgia College & State University. Downtown Milledgeville is a 10-block historic district lined with antebellum masterpieces, including the Old Governor's Mansion that was once occupied overnight by General William T. Sherman in his famous March to the Sea during the Civil War. Milledgeville also boasts Andalusia Farm, home of acclaimed late author Flannery O'Connor, who dryly remarked on her hometown; the master suite has a king-sized bed and master bath.

I live 20 minutes from the location, while my co-host lives three streets down the property.
I have lived in Eatonton for nearly two decades, and a lot has stayed the same in this quiet town. We enjoy being close to the lake, near the city of Milledgeville, and the ability to watch animals in their natural habitats. We have two bagel dogs that love to roam the woods near our home, so we know and understand the desire to bring your furry friend with you. However, we do not allow pets in the rental house. If you have service animals, please let us know ahead of time, or fees will be charged, and you may forfeit your funds if you sneak an animal into or onto the property.

Why they chose this property

This property is quiet and does not have heavy traffic like a major city. Near this home are a community dock, a convenience store, and a gas station at the boat marina.

As a guest, you can access the community dock just down the street, swim, fish, and enjoy a picnic.

You may bring your boat, canoe, kayak, or water sports gear and enjoy all the comforts Lake Sinclair offers. The convenience store five minutes from the property on Twin Bridges Road allows boaters a place to cast their boats for a fee. The Dennis Station public boat ramp, about fifteen minutes away off Bagley Road, also enables water lovers to gain access to the lake for free.

What makes this property unique

Escape the hustle and bustle of city life in this serene, quiet getaway. Whether you're planning a fishing trip or a relaxing weekend at the lake, this property offers ample space for both adults and children, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and at ease.

On the front porch and covered back porch, you can sip your morning coffee while watching what nature offers. The Master bath has a large Jacuzzi tub, a single-person stand-up shower, and a double sink.

Additional sightseeing activities can be explored in the nearby towns of Madison, Greensboro, and Milledgeville.
