Great house with beautiful view of Carmel River beach. Nice patio with fireplace that showcases the view. Well furnished and very comfortable for a long/short term stay. We stayed 3 weeks and look forward to another visit to the house in the future.

Where the river meets the sea...

Our stay at the beach cottage would have rated five stars if not for the daily construction at the house next door. Otherwise, the cottage is well appointed and very comfortable, felt like home. Would definitely stay again!

This home is absolutely beautiful with outstanding views of the Ocean! The Property Manager, Estramelda went out of her way on numerous occasions to ensure that we were happy and had everything we needed.. The Owner did so as well which we greatly appreciated.

Fourth great stay!

Best part of my year is enjoying morning coffee, afternoon wine and the gorgeous view from the front patio at Castillo Caracol. Manager Esmeralda was very helpful and sweet if we needed anything. It is perfect location to get into Carmel Valley or the Village. We also hopped to Highway 1 often to visit Pacific Grove when we wanted to get around more easily without the crowd (a CA native, I have been going to Monterey County since childhood and don’t consider myself a tourist😄)

Carmel by the Sea Bliss

Great location with epic view of River Beach! Being at Carmel Point area affords the best beach access and views without the crowds. The outdoor patio with fireplace was perfect to enjoy the view as night fell and have dinner and wine. The kitchen was fully stocked making home cooking easy. Short 20 minute walk to village center for magical shops and restaurants. We’ve been coming to Carmel for 35 years and it never disappoints! All instructions were clear and easy to do, and both the owner and other help were readily accessible and available if needed (not needed though, the unit had everything!). The icing was a Tesla charger on site. We’ll be back for sure!

Our family really enjoyed our stay at Castillo Caracol. The house was wonderfully maintained and was immaculate! I appreciated that the basic supplies (TP, paper towels, facial tissues, lotion, bath supplies, etc.) were provided so that we were able to restock at our leisure during our stay. The location and the view from the patio were amazing – we walked scenic drive everyday and enjoyed dining and shopping in downtown Carmel. It was a true R&R – no stress with all the conveniences of home! Esmerelda the house-manager even checked in with us to make sure all was going well – super friendly! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!

Always a pleasure

This was my third stay at the house. Its location is perfect for enjoying the beach, walks on Scenic Drive, hikes at Point Lobos and enjoying the countless restaurants in Carmel, including my favorite, Mission Ranch Inn. The house feels bigger than its 1300 sf because of its large family/dining room and kitchen (which is well stocked if you like to cook) and the spectacular front patio, with the large windows looking out on it, feels like an extension of the family room. The owner and his property manager Esmeralda couldn’t be more responsive and considerate to guests. Already looking forward to my next visit!

Fantastic location with beach view from front patio!

Our family loved this great house in prime location with incredible view of Carmel River Beach and just steps away from Scenic Drive and Carmel Point. Reasonable walk or short drive to Ocean Ave. for shopping and dining. House is well laid out, well stocked and very comfortable for a small family or 4 adults. Definitely will go back!

What a Location!!

We had the best time at Snail Castle! The location and views were mind blowing and the house was just as described. We went for walks every morning and each way was more beautiful than the next and spent every evening outside listening to the ocean. We will be back!

Absolutely Wonderful

My family and I stayed at this lovely property this past August, 2022. The home is steps away from the beach. I loved listening to the surf from the outdoor space every evening while sitting by the fire. Inside the home was great as well. The kitchen came with a everything a cook could want. It was a pleasure to make meals there. And only blocks from downtown for meals and shopping. Don’t hesitate to stay. This home is a perfect location for enjoying Carmel-by-the-Sea.

Lovely!

Just returned from my 2nd stay at the cottage. Even cuter than last year. Owner had made a few changes that made the cottage even more comfortable. Neighborhood is still largely unchanged. Still one of the most beautiful corners of the country. Home was spotless when I checked in and the house manager was super helpful.

Why they chose this property

The Carmel Point neighborhood is the best in Carmel! It's walking distance to downtown but there is little traffic. Just a half block to the beach! Point Lobos and the Carmel River Beach fill the view from the front patio.
