Supplies were limited and we ran out. Host was willing to have maid come and drop some off but felt should of had enough to accommodate a family of 5 for a week. River current was very strong and hard to fish.

Hi, I’m sorry we didn’t earn your 5* review on this trip. For other potential guests reading this, we provide plenty of towels, extra blankets, pillows and toilet tissue for your stay. We also try to leave out a handful of disposable plates and cups as a quick alternative to the real thing. If you plan to only use disposable items for the length of your stay, please plan to bring additional supplies. Our location on deep water in the Sapelo River is tidal with currents as the tide comes and goes. Local fisherman typically fish along the oyster banks, along with crabbing and dolphin sightings.

We loved our stay at the River Hut. Check in was not complicated and the house was clean and comfortable once we got the temperature to our liking. The host responded promptly to our questions. Our stay was relaxing and invigorating. Loved the neighborhood.

This house was perfect for an Easter weekend trip for our family of four. The house was very clean and beds were comfortable. The view of the marsh from the dock and the bluff is beautiful. A visit from an otter and dolphins made up for the fish not biting. Communication was prompt and hospitable.We look forward to staying at The River Hut again.

Great property in a quite area. Super clean and well maintained. We really enjoyed the dock. Highly recommend, great place to stay and relax for the price. Lots of things to do nearby. Will definitely stay again in the future.

Great house on the water

Nice little house with a cool bunk house right on the water. We really enjoyed hanging out on the dock and using the kayaks that are included with the stay.

Great for boat owners!

We have been frequenting the coast this summer as we have bought a new boat and this place was perfect! We loved being able to dock right outside of the house at a private dock. The only thing missing was some yard games to keep us entertained while hanging around the house! Will definitely stay again!

Golf getaway

Unique and perfect setup for what we were looking for; golf getaway weekend with high school friends, we were looking for something casual and comfortable. Beautiful view of the river, close to the course, host was super-reaponsive, and, us being from the country, perfectly "not dancy" but nice. Great properrty!
