Looking for a place to enjoy outdoor & indoor family activities and close to other recreations & amenities? Then this is your vacation destination! This home is located approx. one mile down a private wooded road, easily accessible from the main RT 26 in Oxford. If you love nature and enjoy outdoor activities while appreciating simple décor and uncluttered living -You’ll love this place. This is a newly remodeled home set on a 3/4 acre lot with 200 feet of lake frontage. Beautiful unobstructed views from a large 10 x 30 foot deck (with new Weber Spirit Grill) deck & open lawn. You'll be awed by gorgeous nightly sunsets and sparkling sunrises with loon calls echoing on the pond.
There are four kayaks (one double), canoe and 5-person pedal boat available for you to navigate the 1.5 mile long pond and winding river connecting to the Little Androscoggin River and adjacent (similar size) Whitney Pond. For a minimal charge, launch your own boat from the nearby campground beachfront with no restrictions on engine horsepower and boat size. Excellent fishing (license required) of large & small mouth bass, pickerel and other lake-type varieties. We’ve caught many a 2+ pound fish that put up a good fight as you reel them in. The sandy beach (unless there’s been excessive rain), new dock (two 4' x 10' and one 6' x 10' sections) and float (8' x 8') offers swimming and water activities for all. Enjoy playing horseshoes and sitting by the outdoor campfire.
One master bedroom downstairs with a queen sized log-framed bed, 2 bedrooms upstairs connected by a loft area overlooking the floor below. One of upstairs bedroom is a large room that includes 4 beds (2 queen, 2 full) while the other more private bedroom has a queen bed. Kitchen/dining room area has two tables for eating, playing games, etc. for all Family members. Living room area has a large sectional sofa with wall-mounted TV. Side-by-side bathrooms on the first floor: One full large bathroom (approx. 8' x 10'), one half-bathroom with convenient washer/dryer laundry area. Spectrum Triple Play package - FIOS, high-speed internet and phone
Offsite from this location, you’ll find convenient food (e.g. Hannaford Supermarket) & retail shopping and many restaurant options (Boomers on Norway Lake is one of our favorites) within a 10-mile radius. Several nice ones have opened within last year (Honey Badger in Oxford, X Vault Pub in S. Paris, Norway Brew Pub, Ox Pub in casino/hotel) There’s many other novelty, craft & antique stores if that perks your interest. Many family activities are available close-by …. Smedberg’s farm for freshly picked corn (late July) and homemade ice cream … Gray Wildlife Park … Cindi’s Dockside Restaurant in Poland … Oxford Speedway w/frequent day/night car racing, or within an hour’s drive if you want to venture further away from Oxford … Bridgton Twin Drive-In and quaint shopping center ... Portland oceanfront for fresh seafood and restaurants/pubs (we love Gritty’s Pub) … North Conway, NH shopping area. The Portland Museum of Art and the Portland Children's Museum are also great day trips as well as watching a Portland Sea Dogs baseball game. Also, try your chance at the nearby Oxford Casino at the top of RT 26 if you feel lucky! We’re close to several public golf courses: Fairlawn, Norway Country Club, Poland Springs, Spring Meadows, Pt. Sebago & Sunday River, that are reasonably priced and easy to secure tee-times. Feel free to ask us for any other recommendations.
This location is a perfect home for family gatherings, wonderful place for an adult retreat, vacation spot for those who enjoy different activities, or great central location for area activities.

About the host
Hosted by Tom Donovan

My wife Nancy and I have owned waterfront property on Hogan Pond for the last 20+ years. This has been a wonderful location for us to spend time with our Family and friends on many vacations and weekend getaways. Our children have had so much fun swimming, fishing, boating, tubing, exploring, etc. etc. on Hogan & Whitney Pond and the Androscoggin River that runs in several different directions. And they all continue to love to come back and spend time at the "camps".
Why they chose this property
Update:
Over the past Summer and Fall seasons we've had 20+ rentals. We really enjoyed meeting all the different families that came from the surrounding states and as far away as Maryland. Everyone we met was so nice! We couldn't ask for better guests. It was really a great pleasure for Nancy and I have people stay at the property that we've spent many hours working on to make it an enjoyable place to stay. It was interesting hearing what they liked and what they thought could be added to improve their stay. We really appreciated how everyone left the property clean and picked up making it mush easier for getting ready for the next guests. Most expressed and interest in returning the next year so we were happy to hear that! We appreciated suggestions on what we could add/improve to make this property better for their vacation. We've tried to respond to each suggestion and have added improvements. Thanks to All!!
Since Fall we have renovated/finished a new 15' x 24' game/tv above the garage that will have leather couches, ~50" Smart TV, board/video games, etc. In the garage area, we plan on having a pool table, dart board and extra refrigerator for drinks. This will be a great getaway area for the kids or adults. We are excited to offer this additional entertainment and living area for our guests.
Background:
We recently purchased this property in early 2015. We were always awed by the spacious, open views the owners had from their house high above the lake level. The lot is a large enough size to allow many fun non-water activities when you're not out boating on the ponds and river. When the property was listed for sale we were fortunate enough to be in the position to purchase another home on the pond. The interior/exterior of the home had been neglected over the past few years but we have worked very hard to restore this property towards its full potential.

What makes this property unique
Unbelievable views of Hogan Pond throughout the day. We especially love sitting by the campfire or on the deck as the sun sets at the end of the day. A definite must see!! We also enjoy the sounds of loons in the morning (sometimes too early - haha) and during the day. You never know what other animals and nature you'll see throughout the day. Property is spacious with ample space for parking and plenty of room for all types of Family activities. We are always looking to improve the property (e.g. new game rooms and outdoor shower) and add new features for our Guests (new Weber Spirit 3-burner grill and Keurig coffee maker for 2018)
