Perfect location right in the thick of it
Super convenient to everything downtown. Great little place, nicely set up for two, probably a bit small for four though. The windows look out to the sidewalk to the east which has a lot of traffic so the curtains need to be drawn all the time to avoid feeling like you’re a zoo animal. Our only complaint was one large window didn't even have a curtain so you had people looking in until 10pm or so. One more curtain or shade and it’d be perfect.

Our second time to stay and will be booking again!
My wife and I took our E-bikes this trip; the "mud room" in the back is a perfect place to store the bikes and the rack. The communication from the manager is incredible; the community is full of happy, wonderful, and kind people. This is a GREAT spot if looking to enjoy Salida!

Host profile image
I am the manager/owner of Arlie Dale's Jug Liquors, a boutique wine shop, which is located on the front side of the building from Rocco's by the river vacation rental. Born and raised in the area my family purchased this property and we re-opened the Liquor Store in 2003. The Jug is the oldest liquor store location in Salida,CO. My wife Angela is a Clinical Aesthetician (skin care specialist) and owns and operates her studio in Salida and also in Florence. She is very particular and over-sees all housekeeping and takes a lot of pride in making sure the comforts of Rocco's is your best experience while staying there. We really loved living in the residence with our dogs for nine years before we turned it into a rental. Living there was absolutely amazing and a lot of fun, we are glad to let everyone else enjoy the same experience!

Why they chose this property

We purchased this live/work property because at the time Salida had no liquor stores in the downtown area. This location had historically been a liquor store since prohibition ended except the two years prior to when we purchased it.

What makes this property unique

Being an avid kayaker at the time of the purchase life couldn't have been much sweeter for me. Living in a live/work unit that is a liquor store steps from the Salida Whitewater Park was a dream come true! Working on the space with my family and making it ours has been an experience of a lifetime. We hope you enjoy it!
