About this property
In Town and a Quick Walk to Acadia National Park
This newly renovated three-bedroom and two-bath house on Ledgelawn Avenue features a happy backyard, plenty of sleeping area, and a small office where an internationally best-selling novel was written. Really.
There's a grill outside on the deck, a second oven, a big gravel driveway and it's all in incredibly close proximity to Great Meadow Loop (for a hike), the Park Loop Road and in-town Bar Harbor. Lilacs bloom. Birds sing. And it's an incredibly happy place to enjoy Bar Harbor.

Great rental for our time in Acadia! Walkable to Bar Harbour and easy access to the park. Well stocked kitchens, clean rooms and bathrooms, and fit our group of 8 well. Would definitely recommend this place.
This was a great place to stay! We were about a 15-20 minute walk to downtown Bar Harbor, and about an 8-10 minute drive to Acadia. Everything was clean, and it was nice to be able to keep up with our laundry and cook a few meals during our stay. The hosts were excellent communicators. The house is older and creaky (but still charming), but the hosts left several box fans to help block noise at night. All in all, we’d definitely consider staying here again if we’re able to get back to Mount Desert Island.
Check in was a breeze and the entire house, including the kitchen layout, worked really well for our family of six. Absolutely wonderful to be able to walk into town and a quick drive to the park entrances. Fire pit in the back, lovely front porch to enjoy morning coffee. Shaun was a lovely host! We cant wait to be back!
We were thrilled with our stay - the house and location were absolutely wonderful! Loved the fact that we were walking distance to Bar Harbor and had a playground within a block of us. Our family used the outside grill which was very nice and a huge plus since we cooked many of our own meals. Shaun was great with his communication and responded very promptly! We would definitively recommend this house and stay there again if ever back in the area!!
We have loved our stay in Maine. The home is comfortable with so much to do near by. We could have gone to Acadia National Park everyday but the parks, shops and restaurants within walking distance were a must to explore. The owners replied to questions quickly and friendly. The pie was delicious. It was a great treat after a long trip. We would love to return.
This house held a few friends from a larger hiking group. It was well designed and comfortable and in a great location, only a few blocks walk from the best of Bar Harbor and in a quiet neighborhood
Enjoyed our stay in July at this home. Note that there are window A/C units in two of the bedrooms and fans throughout the house. We had a couple of days were in the upper 70s/low 80s that made the home warm, but not too warm. Beds were comfy, kitchen and baths were clean and updated. The location is great - 10-15 min walk to downtown and grocery store, 5-7 min drive to Cadillac Mtn., easy walk to some trails in Acadia. Would have loved to stay longer!
We had such an amazing week at this spacious Bar Harbor home! Shaun was an excellent host- very accommodating and communicative. The house was immaculate and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was fully equipped with cookware , coffee , lunch bags, aluminum foil etc. It’s a quick 11 minute walk into town and a 3 minute drive from the supermarket. We have stayed at many places in Bar Harbor over the past 15 years and this was our favorite. :)
This home was perfect for a family vacation. Our hosts were wonderful and responded so quickly to any questions we had. We will come back for sure! Thank you Shaun!
The house worked great for our family! It was a short walk to get to downtown Bar Harbor and an easy drive to the hiking we wanted to do at Acadia National Park. There was a nice playground just around the corner, too. We would definitely stay here again!
This house met all the needs of our family of five. It was spacious, very clean, conveniently located and had a really neat layout. We plan on staying here again, for sure!
It is actually 2 tenths of a mile to Main Street and then an additional 3.5 tenths of a mile (so just over half of a mile total) to the Village Green, which is considered the center of downtown Bar Harbor.
Thank you so much for staying with us!

This house on Ledgelawn is where we spent a lot of happy time, celebrating the awesomeness that is Bar Harbor.
Why they chose this property
We bought this property because we love Bar Harbor and its quirky, outdoorsy appeal. Ledgelawn Avenue has always been a place for families. Even though Bar Harbor is so small, thousands of trick-or-treaters come to our door. On the Fourth of July, the parade stages at the ballfield and finishes on this street. This is small town America at its best. Right here.
And then there's the park. You can run out the door, turn left and in less than five minutes, you are in one of the most beautiful places in the country.
It's hard to beat that.
What makes this property unique
We love the front porch, the neighbors. We love the way the lilacs smell in Spring and the way the cook-outs smell in the summer. The back yard with its deck and trees just beyond the fence, make you feel secluded even though it's just a short jaunt into town.
There are lots of tiny quirks in the house like an occasional old-fashioned light fixture, double ovens, and an overall light and airy feel.
