About this property
Casa de la Luna in Santa Fe
Casa de la Luna is optimally situated in the downtown area within easy, pleasant walking distance of the nearby Santa Fe Plaza, and straightforward driving to the Santa Fe Opera, Santa Fe Ski area, and many trailheads of the Santa Fe National Forest and nearby grocery shopping at De Vargas Mall. For visitors with canine friends, Rosario Arroyo is just around the corner, and the Ortiz Dog Park is within easy driving distance.
You are welcomed into this lovely 2,000 square foot home with a warm entryway sitting area with a traditional kiva fireplace when you arrive. From the sitting room, you have access to the comfortable living room where you can gather and watch a movie or football game on a large flat-screen TV or simply relax and read a good book. The TV has a Bluetooth Bose soundbar for quality audio and enjoying music from your devices.
Off the living area is the primary suite, which is situated across the home from the guest bedrooms to afford maximum privacy. The primary suite has a king bed, large flat-screen TV, a full bath with double sinks, and a laundry room with a front-loading washer and dryer. The primary suite has a separate entrance to the parking area and its own entrance to the large, enclosed patio, which surrounds much of the house.
When you walk through the entry sitting area, you will find a light and bright open kitchen and adjacent dining room for gathering with family and friends. The kitchen is well equipped with stainless steel appliances, a two-oven system for making large meals, granite countertops, Caphalon cookware, and lovely cabinets.
From the kitchen, you can access the back patio and yard. The backyard is quite large for a downtown location and surrounded by a New Mexico-style “coyote fence” and numerous mature trees, which provide wonderful privacy. There is outdoor dining with a large table, a new barbeque, and three lovely bistro tables situated around the house to enjoy the morning or afternoon sun or to find shady reprieve from the mid-day heat on a summer’s day. There are also four chaise lounges for relaxing and reading a book in our beautiful weather.
A hallway leads from the kitchen to the three guest bedrooms, which have queen size beds and share a full bath with traditional Mexican tile and double sinks. All the back bedrooms are surrounded by the patio and thus feel private and isolated from the outside world. Two of these bedrooms have sliding door access to the patio, and two also have flat-screen TVs.
The home is eclectically furnished and decorated with original art from many renowned Santa Fe artists.
The interior was freshly painted in the winter of 2022, has new linens and several mini-splits to heat or cool the house, depending upon the season. The home is outfitted with a security and fire alarm system connected to local emergency services through a security company.
The owners will welcome one or two well-behaved dogs (no felines). A driveway in front of the home can accommodate off-street parking for up to three cars.
"Live like a local, it's the next best thing to living here!"
