Located in the heart of The Movie Colony neighborhood, Sand Acre is a circa 1933 Spanish Estate situated on a coveted one-acre in-town lot. Rumored to have been frequented by Marilyn Monroe, it is noted to be where she and Joe DiMaggio often spent time together while in Palm Springs.

Sand Acre features five bedrooms, each with en-suite baths. The primary suite offers a king-sized bed; flat-screen TV. The first and second bedrooms are interconnected- The first bedroom features a king-sized bed and flat-screen TV while the second offers a queen-sized bed and flat-screen TV; both have en suite bathrooms. The fourth bedroom features a queen-sized bed. The fifth bedroom is located upstairs and has a queen bed and en-suite bathroom.

The large chef’s kitchen is recently updated with a full suite of stainless steel appliances including a Viking professional gas range.

Sand Acre is surrounded by manicured grounds with a private tennis court. The in-ground pool and spa feature an oversized patio area and poolside cabana.

This home welcomes up to 2 dogs with an additional, non-refundable pet fee of $150, per pet, plus tax. Please be advised that dogs are not permitted in the pool.

The grounds of this home were beautiful and the pool and tennis court gorgeous. There were however, a few problems we had that were mostly attended to right away. The electricity didn’t work in the master bedroom and the carpets were very dirty. They were attended to in a timely manner, but the shower curtain upstairs was dirty and the liner torn in half, the outdoor furniture in disrepair and the stairs were narrow and dangerous. One of our guests fell because there is no top landing. Overall this historic home was beautiful and the beds were comfortable.

Private Paradise

It seems so much larger than the one acre it's listed at. The property is completely fenced in by masonry walls and natural tree growth, maximum privacy! The location is perfect to enjoy a walk to center of town!

Loved the location and beautiful grounds to this iconic house. Understanding that the house is an older home we embraced its quirkiness but there were some issues with the showers and bath tubs. The shower in the primary suite had an old bolt for the faucet handle and the water was only one temp, HOT! The bathtub water ran brown water for several attempts and the honeymoon loft bathroom tub only had cold water, no warm or hot water in that bathroom. All the bathrooms could use a fresh redo, all tile and fixtures very funky. With a remodel this house could be spectacular. There was a ping ping table but no paddles or balls to play with and the pickle ball court needs modern paddles not old wood ones.. The biggest bummer was we were awaken to a jack hammer at 7AM every morning except one and we would not have booked this house knowing that there was construction next door making the house shake at times and preventing us to throughly enjoy the beautiful outdoor setting at this house.

Estate Property in great location

Booked estate for family (8 guests) holiday vacation for 12days. While the grounds & outdoor amenities were wonderful (tennis court, sprawling lawns & pool), the house itself is tired, in need of updating in key areas & not adequately furnished in the living areas to be comfortable for groups over 5 on extended stay. We give the grounds 5 stars. Natural Retreats 5 stars for ease of communication & the check-in/out process. But house needs improvements in wiring, several of the bathrooms & furnishings. Also note, one of the bedrooms is in a converted garage bay so to access main house you have to go through an adjoining bedroom or go outside & enter house through an exterior door. This is not mentioned in listing.

Beautiful estate

I visited this home the beginning of October and it was amazing! Between the great location and beautiful views, I had such a wonderful time. Plenty of room and a perfect set up for a large group. Beautiful views from the backyard while laying out and swimming the pool. Also had a BBQ one night and it had a perfect area to both grill and hang out with friends. Then ending each night with the hot tub was phenomenal. Just sitting while looking at the stars was the perfect way to wind down. It was all around amazing weekend and the staff at natural retreats was so friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this estate to anyone is looking for an awesome getaway to Palm Springs!

Perfect spot for families

Beautiful home and location. The facilities have a fair amount of deferred maintenance, but overall a great spot to vacation.
