About this property

Cute, Renovated Historic Home on River, Walk to Downtown

Enjoy a unique stay in our renovated 165-year-old home while also enjoying small-town charm in Brandon, Vermont. Our 3-bedroom, riverfront home offers two, separate living spaces, air conditioning, a full kitchen, and a washer and dryer. For après ski, après hike, or après anything, walk downtown and enjoy the quaint, local restaurants and shops of Brandon.

Located on a quiet street, our home has been lovingly restored over 2 years. We worked hard to maintain the character of our old home while blending it with tasteful and modern updates. Renovations include a new kitchen with new appliances, two new bathrooms, sanded and refinished floors and new windows, and a giant wraparound deck out back.

Yet antique character can still be found in rustic exposed wood beams, uneven floors, and stairs that are a bit steeper than modern construction, packing this home full of charm!

Our home is a short 28 miles to Killington Ski Area, 14 miles to Mountain Top Resort in Chittenden, 22 miles to Pico Mountain, 41 miles from Okemo (ski) Resort, and 21 miles to Middlebury Snowbowl 19 miles to Chittenden Reservoir, and 16 miles to Middlebury College. For mountain bikers looking for flow trails, try Pine Hill Park in Rutland (16 m) and the Sherburne trails (24 m) near Killington. But the best part of this home, is afterwards, you can walk to Brandon and enjoy our local brewery and restaurants.

We do accommodate smaller dogs in our home. However, this is a strictly NON-SMOKING home, and we charge a fee for violation of this rule.

About the host

Host profile image
I'm originally from Montana and an avid skier and biker who spends as much time in the mountains as possible. My husband and I are working to restore our home so that guests can continue to enjoy the people and shops of Brandon and all that Vermont has to offer!

Why they chose this property

We chose this area because we wanted to be able to walk to town. As a bonus, the neighborhood itself is provides scenic, daily walks and Brandon is conveniently located near skiing, hiking, biking, and paddle destinations.

What makes this property unique

Besides being an antique home with modern conveniences, two separate living spaces helps add a bit of privacy for larger groups. Though personally, my favorite thing about our home is all the natural light and views out to the garden.
