Cozy cabin

Cabin is very cozy! We were impressed with how well stocked it as well. 7 adults stayed and we were very comfortable. Also a personal item was left behind and the property manager/cleaning crew were very helpful with communicating this and returning it to us. We felt very taken care of - highly recommend!!!

TLDR: really enjoyed our stay. Would consider going back or other properties by the host. Host is a great communicator before, during, and after. Cozy and a much needed getaway, easy drive to all the places we wanted to go. Loved natural light. Lovely screened-in area of the porch was a highlight, wonderful for reading. Our dog loved it, not allowed on furniture. —Trip with three others and a dog. Each party essentially had a floor. Because Tony&staff (the host) communicated plenty, it was easy for me to text any issues, plus they solved them right away.Kitchen nice, clean, with pre-measured coffee packets! Labeled cupboards! Bedrooms comfy. Bathrooms good with plenty of towels. Sweet decor. You can tell whoever designed the place really loved doing this. The thermostat sign said to not put the AC under 75, ceiling fans made it okay but if the outside temp was over 85, it got lil toasty. Brought house shoes blankets out of habit, but they provide blankets galore! Minimal checkout tasks, great: clean dishes, take out trash, check thermostat and lock up.Didn’t use grills, fireplace or pit but appreciated option. Natural in the system of seeing cleaning fees for guests to spot “could be cleaner” things. We didn’t run into deal breakers.FYI dog owners: pet friendly, not allowed on furniture, learned post booking, wish compromise but we made do. If trees are bare, from one side of the house, possible to see a couple homes, if people are outside, voices echo.

Thank you for the thoughtful review. I’m glad Into the Woods was a cozy, well-lit retreat for you, and that the screened porch, kitchen details, comfy bedrooms, and our communication made things easy. I appreciate the notes about the thermostat and the pet-on-furniture rule — the system is set to 75 for energy reasons, but I’ll clarify heat expectations and the pet policy in the listing so future guests know what to expect. I’ll also review the photos/descriptions around privacy and sightlines. Thanks for following the simple checkout steps and for the helpful feedback — we’d love to host you again.

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.

What makes this property unique

We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and this cabin in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
