It’s a miss.
So many issues. First, upon check in our refrigerator seemed to be a bit warm but loading in our precooked week worth of groceries for our entire family took a bit so we gave it several chances to cool back down using the turbo cool feature. By the next morning, it was at 61 degrees. We contacted vacasa hours after check in and had no response until the next day. The repairman made it out Wednesday at noon and said he’d have to order 2 parts and that it wasn’t working properly. We had no refrigerator Sunday through Friday. We travel to rockport several times a year, rent a house on copano and fish for the whole week. We bring all of our food premade. No one wants to spend their vacation cooking which I had to do this year AFTER spending days planning and cooking it all in advance in addition to having to eat out several meals.
Second, there were several safety issues needing repair that vacasa was already aware of when I brought them up stating this “house stays too booked to work on”. The lighting on the outside staircase was not working. The lighting down the pier was not working.
Third, the house was not cleaned prior to our arrival. I took many pictures if anyone is interested in seeing them. The floors were spot cleaned but under each kitchen chair, bar stool, etc, crumbs and dirt. The linens stunk and literally had crusty bits of (hopefully) food on them. There was a long black thick wad of hair wrapped around the shampoo in the shower.
Fourth, the house is poorly maintained. Every plumbing fixture in the house is backward. The water filter in the kitchen is even installed to hot water causing it to constantly beep. Also, after suffering with allergies for a few days, I noticed that the ac filters are absolutely funky and looked like they hadn’t been changed in ages. Oh, and the back door handle fell off the first day.
Lastly, and probably the only thing out of the owner or vacasas control were the obnoxious new neighbors. They had a party with lots of guests for the last few days of our trip and were loud, drunk and we had to ask them to get their kids off of our dock after they’d climbed the fence and run down unattended.
