About this property
Saugatuck perfection! Spacious & far from crowds, yet close to town.
From the moment you pull into the winding, tree-kissed drive, you’ll immediately fall in love with Wildwood.
Just 5 minutes south of adorable Saugatuck/Douglas and minutes from the beaches of Lake Michigan, Wildwood’s five secluded acres has room to wander or even get lost. Our family relishes every moment spent together here and we think you'll love it too.
Enjoy morning coffee surrounded by maple trees and white pines, bonfires in the evenings and hot-tubing under the stars. Wildwood isn’t just a house, it’s a retreat. Ideal for families and friends looking to get away.
Warmly imagined with time together in mind, Wildwood’s decor is simple and yet eclectic. Inside, a mixture of local antiques, vintage finds and warm furnishings beg for you to leave behind whatever waits for you at home.
Upstairs, a magnificent gourmet, farm-style kitchen opens to the dining area seating up to 12 as well as the home’s sitting room, complete with wood-burning fireplace for cool weather and Sonos for easily plugging in your favorite music.
Inspired by hunting lodges, the upstairs sitting room's twin chesterfield sofas beg for quiet chit-chat next to a roaring fire over cocktails.
The kitchen features a 5-burner stove, stainless steel appliances, a deep farmhouse sink, and everything else essential to throw together a feast.
The outdoor deck has a long dining table for when Michigan presents its best self. Nearby, a couple Adirondack chairs encourage sitting for chats or reading.
Each bedroom takes its name from a different national park and is decorated accordingly, anchored by a warm Pendelton wool blanket. Each bed has 400 thread count sheets for a luxurious night's sleep.
The Badland's Room, the upper floor master suite, features a lovely king-sized bed and massive picture window so you can enjoy the natural setting outside. The ensuite bathroom includes a jacuzzi bathtub and separate shower.
Just across the hall, The Acadia Room features a queen bed. Between you’ll find guest bathroom no. 1 with tub/shower combo as well as a washer and dryer should you need to do a load or two mid-stay.
As you head downstairs, notice the massive framed American flag. It belonged to our grandfather who served in WW2 and is one of our favorite details.
Downstairs' main living room has the most cushy, giant sectional you’ll ever meet, and may never want to leave! Inspired by our love of winter & aprés ski, the vintage snow shoes, skis and 1950s & 60s paint-by-number winter scenes on the walls add to the coziness of the room, making it perfect for movie night with Xfinity TV, Netflix, Hulu. If it’s blustery out, squeeze together for a good game night or a shuffleboard tournament. There’s a variety of games in the upstairs closet.
Also downstairs is the Yellowstone Room. Its fun, twin set of bunkbeds — great for kids or those staying sans significant other — are sturdy, holding adults up to 225 lbs. Down the hallway you’ll find full bathroom no. 3 with a shower and then the Glacier Room which also has a queen bed.
Around the corner from the sectional is the sleeping nook with a fold-out full sized bed. Careful not to wake your friends up as you walk out onto the lower deck and its 7-person hot tub just outside.
If you wander a bit into the woods, you’ll find one of our favorite spots, the fire pit. Surrounded by adirondack chairs, there’s nothing better than enjoying a warm fire on a cool evening while gazing up at the stars. Simple pleasures, and Wildwood is chock full of ‘em.
Should you want to explore, Wildwood is also located near some of the best southwestern Michigan has to offer. The house is just minutes from some of the most beautiful Lake Michigan beaches. It's also around the corner from farmer's stands and down the road from Apple Orchards, Vineyards and Hard Cider Mills. Antique stores dot the countryside. The roads are perfect for cycling, running or simply taking a nice drive, and if you've never been to the area you'll be shocked and thrilled by the number of delicious restaurants, bars and shops. There's so much to do... or not do, which ever you prefer.
We hope you’ll bring your family and friends to Wildwood. It’s yours to enjoy.
Please note that during the summer season, Wildwood is available Saturday - Saturday. Should a week not be booked, 2 weeks prior we will release for a 4 night minimum.

Hi - we're Joshua, Colin and Lance, and we welcome you to Wildwood.
Collectively, we grew up in Nebraska and Illinois, and now currently reside in Chicago and Richmond, Virginia. Wildwood is our home away from home. We love living in the city, but so appreciate time away from its busy-ness.

Why they chose this property
Our families had been coming to Saugatuck for years when we finally decided long weekends weren't enough. In 2016 we decided to find something that we could visit more reliably, to help our family and friends get away from their busy lives elsewhere and found the perfect space.
The area is so, so lovely. Rolling hills and wood. Great restaurants and charming shops. A true respect for the land, agriculture and bounty is provides is so apparently as you explore Allegen county, and the people exceptionally welcome. There is absolutely nothing you can't adore about the area.
The house itself is unique in a number of ways. It's close to the charm of Saugatuck of course, but we really fell in love with its rural location and winding driveway that reveals the charming home. And the design of the house is certainly not typical for the area, which we appreciated. It's not quite a cabin, not quite a country home. It's something between, which really suits us all. We've outfitted it with decor that evokes our travels and is quite different than our own homes. And because we enjoy the fresh air outside, added a fire pit for the evenings and a hot tub for relaxing. What we think we've created is a getaway that is cozy, begging for memories to be made. We've certainly enjoyed every moment spent there and hope you will too.

What makes this property unique
Wildwood is truly secluded, backing into the woods with no visible neighbors. It is green and thick in the warm months, and wooded and cozy in the cooler months.
It also is great for groups do to multiple spaces to spread out. Plop the kids in front of the tv downstairs while the adults hand out upstairs in the sitting room. Sit on the upper deck while a few gather around the fire pit and others hot tub on the lower deck. The house really is perfect for hanging out together, or getting in a little time to yourself.
