About this property
Historical Chapel Cottage. Professional Tennis Court, sea views, 2 mins to beach
Spacious accommodation, 4 bedrooms.
Bedroom 1. Zip and link super-king bed, or 2 x 3 ft singles with sea views,
Bedroom 2. King size bed with views up the valley towards the village
Bedroom 3. Large room with zip and link super-king or 2 x 3ft beds facing the sea
Bedroom 4. King size bed, on the ground floor with a single 3ft bed and cot facing towards the sea and gardens.
We have a large family bathroom on the top floor with bath, toilet and bidet and a separate shower room with power shower, and toilet on the half landing.
The dining room, with a cupboard full of board games if the weather isn't quite to your liking, perfect for all age groups.
The lounge has a large central wood burner with all fuel provided between September and June for the cooler days, with desk for writing the never ending postcards, smart television, humax and Freesat. Two large very comfy sofas, a chaise lounge and nursing chair with double doors out to the lawns beyond with views towards the sea, forestry, and gardens.
The large family kitchen with electric AGA (off for the summer but can be used like any other cooker if preferred) and another conventional double oven electric cooker with hob, large fridge/freezer, plus an extra over flow fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave and all other necessary equipment to make your holiday as easy as possible. Outside the kitchen is a large seating area with a Weber gas bar-b-que, (a penalty of £30.00 will be charged if not left as found, to include all drip trays and surrounds) and parasel facing the gardens surrounded by the lawns towards the forestry, where you feel like the only people in the world, perfect for the hazy summer evenings. We have an out door Kettler table tennis table, for use during the summer months only. We ask that the cover be replaced after every use, when dry. Information regarding this is supplied in the cottage with 4 bats and 3 balls, not suitable for young children.
The cottage does have wi-fi, and we do have a landline with payphone.
Down the garden path will take you to a little gate onto the footpath, turn left for a 2 minute walk to the local pub, offering homemade food, catering for all diets with live music on a Friday. The landlord is an accomplished fiddle player with numerous professional friends to enertain you, and of course you are encouraged to join in, if you have any musical talent, otherwise sit back and enjoy some real ales, brewed by the pub itself.
Surrounded by 3 acres of flat gardens and lawns, with stream running through, totally secluded, forestry facing, and sea views. All laundry except for cot, and electricity are included.
Professional Ashfelt Tennis Court.
2 dogs are very welcome but we do charge £50.00per dog per week with restrictions to the kitchen area only.
Within 5 minutes flat easy walking distance to Leebay, with its enchanting rock pools for young children and a very safe bathing beach, fishing nets, buckets and spades and body boards provided. 10 minute drive to Woolacombe with its 3 miles of golden sands, 7 minutes to Ilfacombe or 40 minutes to Barnstaple with its large shopping centre and famous Victorian Pannier Market which does different thymes daily, Mondays and Fridays being farmers market day with fresh fruit and vegetables, Tuesdays and Thursdays are crafts with a whole variety of items to make and buy, and Wednesdays are antiques and collectables, all well worth a visit.
Chapel Cottage is in an area of outstanding natural beauty sorrounded by National Trust property with amazing walks on the cliff tops to Morte point, where the Bristol channel and the Atlantic ocean meet towards Woolacombe and beyond, or why not try the Torrs walk to Ilfracombe taking one hour and twenty minutes at an even pace with incredible views to Wales and Lundy Island, fabulous for the would be photographers . Boats do leave from Ilfracombe on a regular basis for trips to Lundy with the basking sharks, puffins and seals being a sancuary for wild life and sea life.
And last but not least we mustn't forget 'Verity' Damien Herst 30 foot bronze statue situated on Ilfracombe harbour facing out to sea. Holding a giant sword with the scales of justice standing on a pile of books, shes in the perfect setting!

About the host
Hosted by Mrs Ginny Potts agent
After visiting Lee as a child with my Dad and having a cream tea, it was always a very special place, to live here is next to none. One of those very hidden gems as said by The Times
Why they chose this property
In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and it’s amazing position so close to the sea surrounded by National Trust land. The history attached to the cottage, probably one of the oldest properties in Lee with its gothic windows and unique arched porch.
What makes this property unique
The location of the cottage is next to none, right in the middle of its own 3 acres with un-surplaced views, to the forestry and sea, offering total sheltered peace and tranquility. 2 acres of totally flat lawned gardens, with beautiful flower beds, offering camellias, azaleas, and other various perennials, not forgetting - apple, quince, mulberry, and pear trees and of course figs, all for guests use.
It’s also a flat walk to beach and local pub, perfect!
