We had an amazing time staying at the Tacklebox! The main cabin and bunkhouse were very cozy to sleep in, and we had an incredible view of Lake Champlain. We’ll definitely have to come back in the summer when the lake has thawed. The sauna and hot tub were also very relaxing, would highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun place to vacation in Vermont!
It was a great place to relax. We enjoyed the lake front property with our dogs and chilled in the sauna and full tub with a view. The kitchen was well stocked so we were able to cook. We spent the nights by the solo fire. Would definitely stay there again.
The Tacklebox property provided us a tranquil space to enjoy what the shores of Lake Champlain had to offer. Beautiful views of the lake and the Adirondack skyline from inside and out. Countless sightings of eagles, heron and other bird life kept us entertained for hours while relaxing on the decks. The cabin was tastefully decorated and the beds were very comfortable. The well equipped kitchen allowed us to cook amazing meals at home. When we were ready to explore the area, there were multiple towns within a short drive that were fun to explore. We found many farm stands nearby to enjoy local products. The icing on the cake was the lovely cedar sauna that we enjoyed while taking in more views of the lake.
The Tacklebox far exceeded our expectations! I felt like I was at a spa resort right on the lake. The Japanese soaking tub, sauna, and outdoor shower were truly amazing. We utilized the kayaks, canoe, and floating tubes to spend time on the absolutely stunning Lake Champlain. We are a family of five so having the bunker house for the kids was the perfect sleeping arrangement, all beds were super comfortable. The property manager was very good at communicating in a timely manner and gives you plenty of resources to help you with restaurants and suggestions for things to do in the area. We would definitely come back to the Tacklebox if we come back to Vermont.
The Tacklebox could be renamed The Jewelbox! This place is a gem. The kitchen and home are incredibly well stocked. There are robes, extra towels, fabulous built-in antique furniture and a record player to enjoy. The attention to detail is unmatched. We loved our stay and hope to return soon!
Our stay at Tacklebox was lovely. The cabin is spotlessly clean and very cozy with thoughtful amenities you would expect at a luxury resort: a beautiful sauna, Japanese soaking tub, nice bath products, outdoor grill, outdoor shower, a firepit, 2 kayaks, a canoe, etc. Access to Lake Champlain from a private dock was easy and the view across the lake from the cabin's deck was spectacular, especially at sunset. All in all, we had a wonderful and peaceful stay at the Tacklebox.
Everything was impeccable from check-in to check-out. The cabin is truly magazine-worthy, beautifully designed and thoughtfully appointed in every detail. Our stay was wonderfully quiet and peaceful, exactly the retreat we had hoped for.The cabin was fully stocked with all the essentials, including plush towels, cozy robes, and even a selection of spices for cooking, which made our time there both comfortable and convenient. We especially enjoyed using the sauna on our final evening, a perfect way to end our stay.Although we visited during below-freezing temperatures, the cabin kept us warm and exceptionally cozy throughout. We would absolutely love to return in warmer weather to experience the lake and all it has to offer.Overall, this stay was outstanding and will remain one of our most cherished memories. 100/10 star review! Thank you so much,Maria Z.

My family of four stayed 3 nights here and really enjoyed the lakeside views and fire pit. The beds were comfortable but other inside seating areas were not conducive for gathering. With a heavy emphasis on rustic charm, the place did not appear to be well maintained. There were active spiders and spiderwebs in many corners of the house. The couch was visibly dirty and ripped. The kitchen and bathroom sinks were chipped and stained. We were also asked to bring our own firewood, wash our own dishes, and take out our own trash, which was surprising given the price point of the property and the cleaning fee. The outside area was a nice place to hang out, but even then, the deck and yard were in need of TLC. The professional photos clearly portray the property in its best light, but given the general absence of upkeep, we did not see it the same way. Overall, the property isn’t bad, but we would not consider returning.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry the Tacklebox's intentionally rustic style wasn't the right fit for everyone. The antique furnishings, salvaged vintage sinks, and reclaimed building materials were carefully sourced and hand selected to preserve the cabin's historic character, while modern comforts like heating, air conditioning, and spa amenities have been thoughtfully added. As a waterfront property, the occasional spider can make its way inside despite the home being professionally cleaned and regularly treated. We appreciate your comments and will continue caring for and preserving this special place.
