An excellent, secluded location just outside the city. The location and home is beautiful and feels very comfortable. Well stocked with kitchen equipment and the hot tub is so nice. No cell service however and the wifi signal was not solid throughout the house, so don't visit expecting to have a working vacation.

We loved our week-long stay at this beautiful eco-home. So peaceful and beautifully furnished. Close to town but still bathed in nature. We'll definitely come again when we go to Ashland.

This was a lovely house that worked well for two couples. The location was wonderful as you get the smell and quiet of being in the woods but you are actually only 10 minutes from downtown Ashland. We enjoyed the hot tub, the beds were comfy and everything was clean, easy and just as advertised. The WiFi can be a bit spotty, but hopefully you are trying to get away and disconnect a bit!

The comfort and natural solidity of this home constructed of straw bails breathes ease. You’ll easily get to the downtown while enjoying the natural setting of your base camp situated on a quiet road. Comfortable bedding, good shower, and a living space for lounging. Very nice.

The house itself is very artistic and beautifully crafted. The dim lights and dark surfaces made for a cold dark feeling for us but for some people that might work well. When the fireplace is available that would be mitigated but wasn’t available at the beginning of the of fall when we were there.

This is the quaintest little cottage. We loved seeing wildlife in the mornings and evening. The host is available and easy to contact. He recommended great restaurants and nearby hikes for us to enjoy while we were there.We loved everything about the cottage except the stairs to the upper loft beds. Just so you are aware, being a little older, they were challenging to navigate in the night when we had to use the restroom. The European style of the cottage is charming, down to the beautiful light fixtures. Everything was clean and inviting. Great vacation over all:)

Our one month stay was incredible! Highly recommended. Secluded, yet very close to town. Very quiet. The hot tub was great. 5 star.

The surroundings are gorgeous and it was very quiet. The host was very communicative.Two bathrooms does not mean two toilets. This experience taught me to thoroughly read descriptions in the future. Assuming that listing that there’s a bath and a half would include toilets in both. Oh well, live and learn. It was so dark in the house that I really can’t say how clean it was. The stairs were oh my god steep, which made middle of the night trips to the restroom very treacherous. We were required to perform a number of tasks at checkout, which was pretty annoying.

Fun trip to the Shakespeare Festival

Staying at the home was lovely:1. Fully stocked kitchen2. Large master bedroom3. Plenty of beds in a fun space upstairs4. Beautiful architecture and decorations5. Lovely hiking/biking trail very nearby6. Quick and easy to get to downtown Ashland

Lovely remote-feeling location, but still just a few minutes from everywhere you'd want to go in Ashland. Beds were comfortable and the listing was accurate. We happened to stay during a heat-wave, and while the hay bale construction is good at keeping the heat out, the A/C situation was not quite adequate. The provided A/C was a portable unit in the kitchen/dining area. It did a good job of keeping the common areas of the house cool, but had no impact on the bedrooms. The upstairs bedroom was especially warm and poor air quality outside (from nearby wild fires) meant we couldn't even open windows to take advantage of cooler overnight temps. Weather conditions aren't the fault of the host, but for anyone planning a summer visit, you should know that there is no A/C in the bedrooms.

This is a great house, we really enjoyed our stay and learning about the house. We usually need a much larger space with 4 bedroom for the family of 5 to be comfortable but this house worked out great for us with the kids loving the little cubby in the wall beds. There is only one toilet in the house but we managed fine. The precaution I would give to others is that the bedroom with 4 beds is up some very tall stairs so careful planning to have anyone without long legs and strong quads staying up there.

This unique home had so many little details that helped make our stay a memorable one. We enjoyed the country atmosphere and quiet, away from the noise of the city. There is a gated entry to the property, which we appreciated. We saw deer grazing, heard birds singing and a bear left its calling card (we didn't have a chance to spot it). Some of the kitchen appliances have a retro look which was very cute (toaster, coffee maker, microwave). We enjoyed the towel warmer next to the shower, the night lights, custom lighting throughout the home and ample dishware in the kitchen. Beds were all comfortable with soft sheets. Plenty of extra towels. The host was very responsive and helpful with an issue with the hot tub. Internet was a little tricky, we had to pretty much stand by the outside box to connect, but it wasn't a big issue for us. There was a fun hiking trail just a few minute drive from the house and we enjoyed all the charms of Ashland, just a short drive away, without staying in the middle of the crowds and traffic. Overall, the home met and exceeded our expectations. It was very clean and peaceful!
