Chippewa Falls is home to this farm stay. Cook-Rutledge Mansion and Heyde Center for the Arts are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company and River Bend Vineyard and Winery. Ready for a night out? Consider Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds and The Sonnentag. Relax and indulge in the area's winery tours, or seek out an adventure with hiking and cycling nearby.
Escape to the tranquil Chippewa Valley at Envisage Retreat, a charming 2nd-floor coach-house style lodge on a 180-acre horse ranch. Located at the end of a quarter-mile-long dirt driveway that winds past horse pastures, the lodge is adjacent to the proprietor’s home, offering a peaceful, private setting. Envisage is situated on the second floor above a woodshop/garage, ensuring complete privacy for guests.
Please note: Access to the lodge is via stairs only—there is no elevator. Two staircases lead to the lodging: an external staircase that brings you to the veranda and a covered internal staircase from the ground floor. While both are available during warmer months, the internal staircase is recommended during winter, as the external stairs may be closed due to icy or snowy conditions.
Relax on the veranda with your morning coffee or evening glass of wine while soaking in the serene surroundings. While you're here, the house and grounds are available for you to explore—enjoy the waterfall, gardens, and various outdoor seating areas during the warm months, or the beauty of a winter wonderland with a cup of coffee in front of a gas fireplace, wrapped in a handmade quilt.
The retreat features two cozy bedrooms with queen beds, a bathroom with a relaxing bathtub, an equipped kitchen, and on-site laundry. This space is perfect for friends, two couples, small families, or solo travelers looking to escape the hustle and bustle. A comfy futon in the loft provides additional sleeping space, and there's room for an air mattress (not provided by Envisage) if needed.
There’s swimming, hiking, and snowmobile trails in the area depending on the season. As a rural location with an appreciation for our local ecosystem, we coexist with nature. You may come across foxes, deer, pheasants, turkeys, badgers, coyotes, insects, and various birds. Please be kind to these wild neighbors.
Pet-friendly with a non-refundable pet fee of $25 per pet per night, payable by cash or check upon departure.
Enjoy modern comforts like WiFi, AC, and all the amenities you need for a restful stay, whether you're visiting Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, or the surrounding area. Outdoor smoking is permitted only at the designated smoking area.

Envisage Retreat was perfect for our family weekend. It was very peaceful and we enjoyed sitting on the veranda and watching the horses. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals and the bedrooms and loft were all very comfortable for sleeping. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay again.
A beautiful place to stay both inside and outside. It was clean, comfortable, and everything matched the description. The directions were perfect and it was easy to find. The views from the deck were stunning. Check in and check out was simple and convinent. I would there again. It was hard to leave.
Great place to get away and enjoy some peace and quiet but still close enough to downtown Chippewa and Eau Claire that you can enjoy what both have to offer. This was our fourth time - and we will definitely make a fifth in the future.
