Loved the bungalow! We traveled to tour Rhodes college for my granddaughter. Safe and historical neighborhood. Very comfortable and felt like home! Highly recommend!
The property was in a safe part of Memphis, Cooper/Young, with newer eating establishments just around the corner. The local grocery store was also very close. We had a car rental so we drove to downtown and to the other attractions we wanted to see around town. We had a good time and felt very comfortable.
This was a good rental for us. We didn't spend a lot of time there - it's close to our daughters home and location worked out perfectly. Had an issue with the coffee maker and a new one was delivered quickly. Thanks for the stay!
I loved the cottage feel. An older property with charm. On-site pictures were exactly as the home was presented. Convenient parking in the rear. The only issue was the musty smell that older homes sometimes have. Otherwise, a very nice place to stay.
Very convenient because of limited parking downtown. Uber was always within 10 minute wait. Careful of peak hours, first one at 900am 43 dollars. All after that, 910am + was under $11. Thanks Ben, another relaxing stay.
Four adults stayed two nights for the Liberty Bowl game. We used Uber to get around, $10.00 for most places before 10:00PM, then $25.00. This place was just right. The off street parking is tight, sedans yes, SUV's no. Beds are comfy, plenty of silverware, pots and pans and 5 pods for the Kuric machine. Very well decorated. Would stay there again. Only negative, it seems to located in the Fed-X flight patern.

It was adorable. The owner had air conditioning perfect with fans going when we arrived no need to do anything. Nice to have a washer and dryer. Granddaughter was impressed there were spices. Didn't use the kitchen to cook but it was fully stocked if we needed. If we ever came back to Memphis would definitely stay here again.

Very nice!
Great accommodations in a very nice neighborhood. Only a 10 min car ride to downtown attractions. Ben is great and is available by phone for any concerns. The only negative comment I have is the yellow cottage is advertised as sleeping 5 and I assumed the 5th person would use a pull out sofa, but the sofa did not pull out to a bed and you have to sleep on the sofa as is. The 2 bedrooms are lovely so for 4 people it is perfect!

Budget option
Property is remodeled but very old. Not great condition -- peeling paint, large stains on carpet and tub, minimal water pressure in shower. Water dripping from ceiling. Basic and sparse towels that smelled musty. Location is back of house on a busy street, with another rental cottage sharing a very small driveway. Wouldn't stay here again, there are better choices in the area.

Thank you for making me aware of your issues… the driveway is tight, which is explained to you in advance of coming to the cottage. Would hope future guest would look at my many five star ratings when considering the yellow door cottage.
The Historic Cottage Yellow Door in Midtown is a cozy apartment. The cottage has a wonderful layout. The three of us had our own comfortable spaces to work and relax. The cottage is clean, is well equipped, and has good amenities. There is only one bathroom, but there are two vanities, which were great to have for three people. The cottage is in a great neighborhood and location. The neighborhood is quiet. The cottage is close to restaurants, shops, and downtown. The location was also perfect for us because it was very close in proximity to family we were visiting in Memphis. We felt at home.
The host, Ben, is superb. We had a couple of issues, but Ben was very responsive and accommodating. We have stayed at other Vrbo properties of Ben’s and felt at home in them as well. Overall, we had a good stay at the Historic Cottage Yellow Door and would stay there again.

Water Problems
Water was in the kitchen floor upon arrival from disposal or dishwasher leak possibly. Texted owner. They responded back that they were aware of the leak from previous occupants, apologized, and was told someone would be by to fix it following day. By the end of the week, nobody ever showed. Couldn’t use dishwasher or the kitchen sink. Made due with bathtub and bathroom sinks instead.

i was out of town during your stay and thought one of my workman had been by. Sorry for the inconvenience.
House is very clean, accurately listed, and very comfortable. Bed was fantastic, neighborhood is nice and close to midtown/Overton Square area and very convenient. Ben (host) is very accessible and accommodating. Highly recommend!
Very clean and much nicer than staying at a hotel.
Excellent experience with Mr. Duke! The cottage was nice and very convenient to all of the places we visited. If/when we visit Memphis again, I would definitely stay here!
