Only a short stroll from downtown Santa Ynez dining, and just minutes from Los Olivos and the Santa Ynez Valley wineries, Prairie Home is the perfect base for walking, wine tasting, biking or just quiet reflection.

This modern farmhouse is so comfortable in a quiet and tranquil neighborhood. The location is perfect walking distance proximity to local Santa Ynez dining, wine tasting and shopping. With a toddler in the mix, we mostly hung out on the back enclosed porch area. We loved how the owner has preserved the original design aesthetic including links to its history while completely renovating and updating all rooms. Highly recommended to be your Santa Ynez base camp.

My first real job was as a carpenter. Then I started a business and had a long and full career while raising a family. Houses have always been a love of mine, and now in my retirement I get to do what I really love, find, restore and share special homes.

What makes this property unique

Prairie Home is one of the oldest homes in Santa Ynez. The house has been a parsonage, orphanage, and last a home to the same family for 3 generations. It was in rough shape when I found it, but after 3 years and a lot of love and money, it is better than ever. While it is fully updated, it retains its historic character.
