Nice cabin for a couples getaway. Very quiet inside, lots of birds and wildlife outside. Great location in the middle of lots of activities. We were on a motorcycle trip, so the roads surrounding the cabin were our favorite part, although most roads in the Driftless area are great rides. The hosts communicated well and made sure we had everything we needed after a couple days, which was nice.We will be booking this cabin again for future trips to the area.
Quiet place near Wildcat State Park and Kickapoo Valley Reserve. Easy check-in, friendly hosts, clean, reasonably equipped for a short trip and basic use. No wifi or TV, limited cell service if that's important to you. 20-30 minute drive to most restaurants or grocery stores in the area but there is a gas station and a couple small places nearby in Ontario.
I went for a weekend to escape from the craziness of life. I had an amazing weekend. Beautiful cabin! Very clean and organized. Perfect quiet retreat space!
Bright and clean and comfortable. Basics provided for simple cooking. We ate breakfast in and packed lunches with supper out at local great restaurants. Bed is cozy upstairs with electric fireplace provided.
Clean, quiet and magical. This place is amazing. We kayaked, took bike trails, and explored. This is not the hustle type of vacation it is relax and unwind. The patio area with a fire pit and picnic table was a pleasant surprise. Visit Peaceful Valley Haven and Hillsboro Brewery while in the area.
We loved our time at this cabin!! Perfect for our needs and very well kept and great layout! Only critique... we wanted to flip our pancakes, but the kitchen was missing a spatula and this time of year it's tough to battle nature, but a few less ladybugs inside would have been perfect.

So excited and happy to hear you loved our cabin! Rest assured we have a spatula up there now! I’m so sorry about the ladybugs, they were super crazy this year. We couldn’t figure out how they were getting in. My husband did some extra caulking and we sprayed a natural essential oil spray on the baseboards and that has helped tremendously. We appreciate your feedback!
Gorgeous little cabin for two. The courtyard with lighting and fire pit was really historic and neat. The place was spotless and open. It had everything we needed and some luxurious extras. We used the outdoor grill for steaks. The sounds of the woods were relaxing. Super comfortable bed. It was really warm out but the AC unit kept it cool perfectly. No TV, wifi or cell reception but we loved that most! Lots of quality time, unplugged. Loved that there wasn't a long list of things to do before leaving. We would stay here again. One of the newest and most crisp, clean places we've stayed. Absolutely worth every penny. The area is gorgeous with so much to do. But we'd have been perfectly content never leaving either.
Enjoyed our stay in this quiet, comfortable cabin! Loved to look out the windows at the beautiful wildflowers, birds, and landscaping. The many windows brought in natural light and created a wonderful feeling of ambiance! The front porch and back deck added to this feeling along with the hand made wooden benches on the porch and the handmade kitchen table. The bed in the loft was very comfortable, had an extremely soft, cozy blanket which helped us sleep so soundly! The air conditioning worked well which is an added bonus when it’s hot/humid outside. We hiked at the Kickapoo Nature Reserve, had a tasty dinner at Hillsboro Brewery and enjoyed the courtyard with a fire pit afterwards. The stars were amazing and I even saw a shooting star! I highly recommend this little piece of heaven in Ontario, WI.
This was an amazing property for a weekend getaway. My college roommate and I were planning a spiritual retreat, so we were looking for something quiet and remote. What we experienced was more than exceptional! The cabin was like a 4-star hotel with a full kitchen, amazing shower, comfortable living area and windows all around giving us an amazing view. We spent the "not rainy" evening around the fire pit in a cozy outdoor area. We stayed dry on the rainy evening enjoying the benches on the front porch. There was a back porch with a grill which we did not use since we were so stuffed from eating our way through the many local Amish shops and stops. It was a nice amenity, though. The location is remote, but well within driving distance of many small towns and fun eateries. Our host was very helpful, even calling with some specific directions when it looked like I would be arriving after dark! I would highly recommend this very special cabin if you want a quiet, off the grid weekend. We will definitely do this again!!

The cabin is absolutely beautiful gorgeous cabin. However, it is NOT private and NOT quite. NOT PRIVATE:::You do not see it in the pictures but the cabin is basically in the owner's backyard. A stone's throw away from her house. You can see the owner and her family sitting on the back patio while you're trying to sit on your front patio. NOT QUITE:::. The owner decided to cut the lawn on the first afternoon we were there. This took two and a half hours .....this was not a quiet peaceful afternoon. Then the next day she decided to cut the tree down with the big chainsaw this took about 90 minutes....... this was not quite peaceful afternoon, then later that afternoon they decided to cut the lawn with the push mower.....this was not a quiet peaceful afternoon. We want hiking several times and came back instead of to a quiet afternoon a loud backyard basically right in front of the cabin. Check in is at 11:00 and check out is at 3:00 why the owner didn't choose those for our blocks to do her own yard is beyond me. Besides the hiking in the area and the beauty of the inside of the cabin I could have been basically home listening to my busy City neighborhood with all the noise that was going on in her yard. You do not see her house in the pictures so beware!!!!
