Family getaway

The River Nest was extremely comfortable with all the extra amenities and personal touches to make us feel at home. Set in a country atmosphere near everything! We enjoyed a very relaxing visit with family in Mims and enjoyed the beautiful national seashore, Beaches and delicious local restaurants! The owners were excellent with communication and extremely kind in leaving everything and more you can imagine you’d need for convenience! From extra tooth brushes to coffee, snacks and loads of information. We’ll be sure to visit again ! Thanks again for the wonderful stay and memories made!!

We visited River Nest Cabin for the month of Feb. 2026. As an alternative to the more-pricey, beachy-condo scene of the past, River Nest was perfect for us!As described, River Nest is a quaint, more rural-like-cabin setting, and it felt very much like home to us...including a neighborhood Rooster! River Nest had everything we needed, including a helpful bedroom/office combo. The beds/towels were high-quality and very comfortable. We made good use of the outdoor Grill and the other cooking items, and the 2-bay carport was very convenient. River Nest was within easy driving distance of everything we wanted to do, minus the beach-related congestion. Food/supplies were as close as the Dollar General at the end of the street, or 10 minutes for supermarkets. There were good choices for local home-style dining, or other options. Numerous activities were within 30-45 minutes including the Daytona NASCAR races, New Smyrna Beach, Nature drives at Black Point Merritt Island Refuge, and the nearby Seminole Rest historic site/walk. We also found the Sanford Airport to be an easy, low-traffic 45-minute drive for visitor travel.Hostess Rene was outstanding with her communication and follow-up. Reservations and any questions during our stay were handled promptly. Rene had everything well-labeled, with instructions, and her talented artwork added to the decor. Thanks Rene and Roscoe. Our home offers an amazing outdoor front porch space complete with comfy swivel wicker chairs, Adirondack chairs, fire pit and outdoor movie theater. That’s not all because the side patio has a Webber grill, mini fridge and eating space.
