Mariposa Yosemite cute 2 bed cottage with pool on large scenic quiet lot
Very new manufactured home cottage with American Indian decor with new furniture, linens, crockery, cutlery as well as new full size fridge, stove and microwave, this unit is nestled in between some big trees and is down the winery lane from street. So quiet except for the birds. Outdoor patio and gas BBQ area to choose from. Eat each meal each day in a different spot as you look out across the meadow and big seasonal pond, as well as the overgrown hillside across the river. Almost in the middle of Triangle Rd that cuts across top of Mariposa so there is easy access to Yosemite's West gate (Hwy 140) for the valley floor, or Yosemite's South gate (Hwy 41) for access to Wawona, Big Trees and Badger Pass ski area. Take a break from Yosemite and hike our own property, or just take a book or guitar and picnic in one of the amazing spots by our own seasonal river, or simply relax under a big oak tree. Yes it is central California and gets hot in summer - but this cabin has the latest energy ratings. And at night we are above the fog and town lights, and below the snow (except a few days in Winter), so spectacularly clear nights are the norm for all star and moon gazers. And in summer the pool and deck is yours to enjoy (Apr-Oct). Owner lives nearby on same grounds to serve any needs or questions. We have been visiting Yosemite for over 30 years - long before we moved to this area we love so much. There is even a washer and dryer but who does laundry on vacation? SuperFast Starlink WIFI. Detailed Guide Book.

Beautiful property, very peaceful and quiet. Great for star gazing and convenienty located when visiting Yosemite park (45 minute drive). Martin is a wonderful host and is very knowledgable about the area.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay in Martin' s cottage. It's really clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable. Martin was such a friendly host who knows everything about the area and its history.

We enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable. We would to have been able to walk around more grass wasn't mowed. The beds were comfortable the kitchen was well stocked.
Lovely place to stay near Yosemite. Martin was an excellent host and the house had everything we needed for our two night stay. Views are beautiful and the house isn’t too far outside town so it was easy to head out for dinner or supplies. Would absolutely stay here again!
My husband, adult grandson, and I spent a couple of nights here and it was a convenient location for sightseeing in Yosemite. It was very quiet and peaceful and we especially enjoyed sitting on the patio in the mornings and evenings while taking in the lovely views.

Thanks Thomas.... we sure enjoyed having you guys take a break from the hectic world on our quiet corner of earth here.
Clean, newer mini home; host lives on property and he is very pleasant. Happy to have two bedrooms, washer and dryer, fire pit, even an outdoor table with umbrella and chairs. Lots of wildlife to enjoy such as numerous deer, various birds. We saw the California Quails and an Acorn Woodpecker up close. The resident kittycat was very affectionate and fun to play with. 15 minutes from the town of Mariposa, 30 minutes from Oakhurst.
The cottage is set on a hill with a great view. It’s in a very peaceful and quiet setting, out of sight and out of earshot from the main road. It was spotlessly clean and it contained all of the comforts of home. The owner lives close by and was very pleasant and helpful. We will definitely be back!
The location was nice and quiet. The deer next to the pond in the morning was a special bonus. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept really well, which is saying a lot considering my bed at home is a sleep number :-D.
This place is very quiet and very clean. It’s perfect for 3 to 4 people. Very close to Yosemite and the drive there is simple and beautiful. Martin is a great host and very sweet. It was nice getting to know him.
Property was conveniently located to Yosemite and in a quiet and pretty area. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The barbecue grill was really nice! The AC kept the main living area cool when it was on. I had not experienced the restrictions on using laundry at only certain times during stays at other California properties but we made it work and I was glad to have a laundry facility. Our family enjoyed being closed to Yosemite.
Home is completely new, well equipped and we thoroughly enjoyed our short visit to Mariposa! The City of Mariposa is small but very quaint, we had a wonderful dinner at Savoury's a local restaurant in town. People are very welcoming and so very kind.
We were just about 45-60 minutes from Yosemite and the views this time of year were completely breathtaking!
Martin was a super host and we would definitely stay again if we come back to Yosemite. Thanks for a great visit!
May wife and I spent four nights at this property. Our criteria for selecting it were dark skies (for stargazing) and proximity to Yosemite National Park. It takes a while to get to the park entrance from the property, but it's a scenic drive!
The Pioneer Market in town (9 miles from the property) was a great source for groceries.
The property itself is in immaculate condition. A real plus for us was that everything was well labelled and a binder of instructions and information was provided (the previous place we'd stayed left us to to figure things out for ourselves!).
We'd definitely recommend this.
We were looking for a quiet, out of the way place and found it. Only a 15 minute drive into the charming Mariposa and 45 minutes to Yosemite. Pretty drive up the mountain. We were greeted upon our arrival by our host and everything was in order. Good WiFi connection and plenty of room to spread out and relax. Kitchen was well equipped with basics, including a blender and meat thermometer, which are usually not present in a vacation rental . Everything was clean, but the place could use a deep cleaning of carpet, walls, blinds,, tub, light switches.
First of all Martin the owner is awesome!
He told us in advance to make a reservation to enter Yosemite Park. He was very kind and prompt with all of our questions.
My kids enjoyed the pool to cool off from the summer heat. The local market is only 16 minutes away and enjoy the small town experience!
Great quaint property with a great view, perfect for a small group. Good location as well, about 30 mins from entrance to the park and right next to beautiful vineyard. Host was next door anytime we needed him and was very welcoming.
Martin was very friendly and hospitable. We had a great stay while my friend and I did some editing on a book project. The property is fairly close to the 140 Yosemite entrance and is easy to get to. Highly recommended!
This place was perfect for our Yosemite trip. Close to the park. Everything you need is here. Martin is very nice and gets back to you quick. I look forward to staying here again.

About the host
Hosted by Martin Foden
For many years in Silicon Valley I was a high tech marketeer. I often talked of one day going up into the mountains and forgetting to come back. Then a few years ago, after my last international trip, my son asked, "Dad, you keep talking about your mountain cabin. When are you going to do it?" I have traveled the world but now I stay home and await your arrivals.
Why they chose this property
For 5 years I lived in an old small house up the street. Then one day walking down the street I got suspicious as to what had happened to the sale of this property. It didn''t look like anyone was going in or out. Turns out the sale had fallen through, just like my nice one a little further across the valley.
What makes this property unique
This property is very special to me even though it all burned down in 2022 in the Big Oak fire. Slowly I am putting it all back together starting with this brand new cabin. A manufactured home with all new everything and a themed decor. Plus my new little workshop I made for my Safari Gold jewelry business.
