Welcome to our waterfront cottage, The Mermaid of Lorain, one of the Pelee Island’s Finest Homes, a two-story building on the very finest sand swim beach in a Cul-De-Sac! It has 3 bedrooms with Queen’s size beds in each room plus 1 pull out bed, which can accommodate up to 8 people. One bedroom (The Cleodora) is located on the main floor while the other 2 (The Nixie and The Ocarina)are located on the second floor. All the rooms and the living room have full lake views.
The flooring is made of carpet over wood, ceramic and laminate. It has a full kitchen with a stove, a microwave, oven, a refrigerator, dishes, glasses, utensils, and a dishwasher. We have a washer and a dryer for the clothes. It has 2 full baths, one on each floor. Bed linens, towels, and cleaning supplies are provided.
The finely decorated white wooden stair railings plus carpets on the stairs to the second floor are added safety features for the children and the elderly.
You'll also find an assortment of coffee makers, dining table, breakfast table and an outdoor gas BBQ grill. There is a large back deck for outdoor sitting. Fine decorated, bright and naturally lit interior features many artworks. The Mermaid of Lorain, Pelee Island’s Finest cottage is a relaxing and peaceful home. It has indoor entertainment with high speed satellite internet, satellite TV, VCR, CD/DVD player, a large collection of CDs and DVDs, a radio, books, and games for all age groups. There is a Playpen for younger children. Heating Base Boards, Fans, and Window Air Conditioners are available. There are plenty of beach chairs and a picnic table. Pelee Island's finest sand swim beach is at your front door. Lake Erie is quite shallow near our beach.

Wonderful property right on the East beach. A spacious sized home for our large family that had every amenity available- grill, outdoor space and furniture, gorgeous stretch of walkable beach, fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, comfortable beds and all the linens supplied. I couldn’t have asked for more in one property. Sayed is an excellent host and so easy to work with. Highly recommend this stay and look forward to future visits!

Great location. Beautiful view from every where in cottage. Lovely deck to sit on. Plenty outside furniture. Great size bedrooms. Definitely needs a new couch. Could not get WI-FI to work. No Smart TV. Which I wasn’t there to watch tv. The outside shower was a hose. Lucky we brought our own sheets because I didn’t see any provided. Ants in kitchen. None of the negatives were deal breakers for us. The positives out weighed the negatives. I would rent again.

The checkout cleaning process stressed us out the entire stay; we couldn’t truly relax. Couch was ridiculously uncomfortable and hard to rest after a 32km day of biking/walking. Place needs a “spring clean” - tonnes of spiders; walls/fabrics/trim/windows haven’t seen a good cleaning in quite some time.I am completely grateful for the beautiful landscape and ability to stay on island and really soak up the experience on Pelee Island. It was a bed and it was fantastic! Unfortunately, caught the worst of the stable flies (tail end of August). It would be worth checking out when they aren’t there for enjoyment of outdoors and beach. What a great start to our holiday! Recommend the place if you are simple and can work with what is. Thank you again!

Excellent beach front location, amazing caretaker, fully euiped and comfortable space and cooperative owner. We had a great time!Note: Since it was in the house rules, we had to spend several valuable hours of our stay to do the bedsheet & towels laundry and clean the house before leaving the place!

Beautiful spot

Only issue was owners showed up at beginning of our stay stated they didn’t know we were booked and needed to do pictures to sell the house we had to wait outside for hour until owners were completed.

Our family first visited Pelee Island in April 2012 and we all instantly fell in love with it. It has become a perfect get away for our family, especially our 10 years old daughter. Six months after our first trip to Pelee Island, we decided to share our memories with nature lovers by welcoming them to this beautiful upscale cottage and help them to enjoy the peace, tranquility, and magic of Pelee Island.

Built in 2006, this unique property is in an excellent location, which contains large area of fine sand swim beach in Pelee Island. It is a waterfront property with lake view from all the rooms.

What makes this property unique

All the amenities of a modern house with very fine sand swim beach that is only few feet away from the very shallow lake for several feet that is ideal for swimming of the rookies, the frail elderly and younger children with adult supervision.
