Our neighborhood borders the Peterson Nature Preserve, and our home can be rented along with our adjacent one-bedroom home (if available) for additional space. Fencing separates the two properties. Downtown Saugatuck is just a short walk away, and both Douglas and Oval Beach are a quick drive. Enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor amenities during your stay. All “A Step Away” guests receive a discount at our local store. Lastly, we’re dog-friendly—with prior approval and an additional fee.

This ranch home is a new addition to our “A Step Away” family of rental homes in Saugatuck. We’ve been Saugatuck “Superhosts” for a long time…..Check out our reviews of our other homes to gain a sense of what it’s like to stay at “A Step Away.” This home has a lot to offer: location, amenities, and hospitality.

This comfortable single-story home features a brand-new kitchen and an updated bathroom. It offers a fenced yard with landscaping, plus convenient on-site parking for two vehicles. Inside, the home provides comfortable accommodations for up to four guests, with decor that reflects the unique character of Saugatuck, Douglas, and the local lake and arts scenes.

Perfect for any type of traveler—whether you’re visiting solo, with a partner, a small family, a friend, or another couple. For extra space, you can pair this home with our adjacent one-bedroom property right next door (separated by fencing).

“A Step Away” is designed for carefree, easy living. It includes one king bedroom, one queen bedroom, and a recently updated bathroom with a new walk-in shower. The vaulted eat-in kitchen opens up to the living room, which then flows into a bright, window-filled all-season porch.

Outside, enjoy a fenced yard with a BBQ grill, propane fire pit, and plenty of seating—ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring. We believe “A Step Away” is the perfect spot for your Saugatuck getaway.

This place was exactly how it is advertised!! It was fabulous, super clean and crisp! It truly felt like staying in someone’s personal home you know and trust their level of cleanliness. It never even felt like rental property. I can’t say enough about how cozy and clean it was. And I have horrible anxiety about staying in strange places and wondering how “truly clean it is.” I never once felt anxious staying here. Everything was spectacular. The Host Richard is very personable and helps with anything you need. Would 100% book again! Loved it. Also, very accommodating to bringing your fur babies along!
