Perfect getaway for couples ! close to Ludington or Baldwin.

We invite you to come and relax, in the recently updated, quaint log cabin. It is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway or a romantic escape. Located 15 miles East of Ludington, 14 miles West of Baldwin and by the Manistee National Forest. This is a great place for trail riding, hiking and enjoying the outdoors, with access to a public boat launch 1/2 block away on Long Lake. Perfect for swimming, fishing or spending time in the water kayaking or canoeing.
This quiet cabin gives an inviting romantic, woodsy atmosphere, with modern amenities. This is a smoke free and pet free premises.
The cabin is equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, Kerig, coffee maker, pots, pans, dishes and utensils. We have cable TV and Internet/ Wi Fi. The bedroom has a luxurious, king bed. There is also a full sleeper and twin sleeper for additional guests.
This quiet getaway provides plenty of places to relax, from sitting in front of the real stone fireplace reading, or in the gazebo or around the firepit.
A great place to clear your mind and getaway from the busy everyday life. Become one with nature and come relax at the red log cabin retreat

This place grew on us during our stay and we hated to leave on the day of our departure. The inside was well equipped for being able to cook and prepare meals. The outdoor furniture was dusty and we cleaned it off before using it. The inside was very tidy and the bed was super comfortable! I would definitely consider staying here again!

Another pleasant stay!

This is our second time staying at the cabin and it was just as nice as the last. The cabin has everything you need and communication with the owner is always great. Neighborhood is nice and quiet so after a long day in downtown Ludington, it’s nice to come back to the peace and quiet.

Perfect Couples Retreat

The Little Red Cabin was a perfect destination for our romantic weekend getaway. Elly’s attention to detail was superb; everything was thought of. We absolutely loved the red cabin in the woods. Has everything you could want. The weather didn't cooperate for us to enjoy outside however it was really nice to be able to just relax. The bed is very comfortable and soft. Highly recommend!

Red Cabin Getaway

My hubby and I were looking to get away for a few days. The Red Cabin provided the perfect place to relax and enjoy! The cabin is decorated to create a true cabin experience and they have everything you could possibly need during your stay. We were greeted by Bob with a tour and history of the cottage and area. He and Elly were always available for any questions we had. Great place to stay!

A piece of heaven!

What an amazing place! Warm, cozy, homey, stocked with so many useful things! Elly was very quick to respond to questions, and Bob was a sweetheart, checking us in, making sure we had what we needed, and even letting us in on the secret ice cream stash! The lake is close for kayaking, and fishing off the docks at the private park was fun! We will definitely be back!!

Red Cabin delivers!!

We came to the area for my husbands disc golf tournament. Little did we know we had found the perfect haven of rest for our down time. Elly and Dave have created such a cozy nest. There is seriously EVERYTHING you need at the Red Cabin. Although this time we came only with the two of us, we could easily have hosted a gathering for with friends/family with the outdoor space provided- a gazebo for games, a carport converted into seating for many, a campfire for s’mores with chairs surrounding it,and 5 kayaks. Inside the cabin is cozy, cute and also well equipped. The kitchen is complete! And, I when I locked myself out, Elly answered on the first ring greeting me by name. I was back in the cabin in 5 minutes. Thank you Elly for everything!

My Friend’s Review

We had planned a holiday weekend at this property because we enjoyed it so much last year. Due to some unexpected events, I ended up gifting my reservation to my dear friend. This is her review: Recently, my son and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend at Red Cabin Retreat in Fountain, Mi., very close to Ludington, on Lake Michigan. Not only was the cabin charmingly rustic in its decor, but it was also fully equipped with all modern appliances. In addition, our host had supplied guests with many little convenience items, such as one might have forgotten to bring! There were snacks and bottled water placed in the cabin; nothing was overlooked, it seemed.! Our host kindly gave us a history about the house, and offered information about the area, where we might find groceries, gas, and other shopping venues. We will definitely return to this lovely place sometime in the future!

I couldn’t find the entry code on VRBO site but was able to contact owner and was given information. Owner was easy to work with! The home was fully stocked, anything we might need was right there. We used both pull out beds. We had trouble finding all the bedding. We are old school and prefer sleeping with both bottom and top sheets; only enough sheets were found for a bottom sheet. The bonfire chairs could use some cleaning;,also the front board on the bonfire deck came loose and fell over; needs repair. We were there for a family reunion nearby so we appreciated being so close. Thanks for sharing your space!
