The Neighborhood:

With a beach at the foot of the street and shops and restaurants only steps away, it's easy to have a great time Wellington. There are many great, locally owned and operated venues within walking distance.

Farmer's Markets:

Wellington Community Market takes place on Saturday mornings from 9am-1pm just down the street at Wellington United Church. Find local crafts, artisinal foods and more. Jamie Kenedy's world famous fries are made fresh right here!

The Eddie has another farmers market at the same time. Just a short drive away and with plenty of parking, this market offers a more variety than Wellington has.

Groceries:

Foodland in Wellington is a our local grocer. While it lacks the selection of the larger stores in Picton, it's still quite good for a small town and very handy in a pinch.

Liquor:

There's an LCBO at the west end of Wellington, and beer and wine available pretty much everywhere.

Coffee:

If you fancy a finer coffee than our in-home wares can provide, Rise Coffee House and OAK CLOTHING CO can serve you locally in Wellington. But if you’re passing through Bloomfield, Citizen Frances has THE BEST coffee in PEC. Great coffee, great vibes, plus killer breakfast sandwiches, cookies, etc. (Say hi to Andrea and Gosia!)

Breakfast:

The Good Place – Conveniently located steps away, here you can pick up a great breakfast sandwich, fresh juice and a morning coffee (+ vegan and gluten free options). Plus, a natural food store to boot.

Creekside Café – A new breakfast diner with classic old-school charm and a great menu.

Dining:

Midtown Brewery – Great beer and a great menu including a truly awesome burger, wood-fired pizzas and many excellent seasonal options.

La Condesa – Truly excellent Mexican-inspired food and great cocktails. If you like tacos, this is a must (but patrons must often line up – so we recommend joining their waitlist online)

The Drake Devonshire – Great food (try the duck wings), great drinks and great service. Enjoy your cuisine and cocktails indoors, on the patio, or right on the beach.

Upstreet – A new sports bar with excellent fried chicken to eat-in or take out. Entertainment provided on some evenings, so call ahead and ask.

Pounder's Pub & Patio – Just steps away (beside The Good Place) with an elevated pub-style menu, friendly service and a great patio that literally hangs over the lake. Entertainment provided on some evenings, so call ahead and ask.

The Lakeside Motel – This a very popular spot with an incredible view of the lake and an atmosphere that feels Mediterranean. Enjoy awesome cocktails and cuisine cooked in an outdoor kitchen.

Libations:

Bar Duchess – Great vibes, thoughtful cocktails, and snacks.

Decanter – Experience a great selection of PEC wines, snacks and charcuterie – minus the drive. Cool gift shop too!

Takeout:

Rockin Rogers – This is classic small-town pizza at its finest. Chewy, gooey, delicious and reasonably priced. Great salads and sandwiches too. And just a few steps away.

Sprigwich – A great selection of classic and inventive sandwiches, made fresh to order.

Wellington Bakery – This requires a short drive to the far end of Wellington, but if you’re craving a sweet treat or some fresh bread for sandwiches, it’s well worth the trip!

Getting Around:

One of the best things about Wellington is that you can find everything you need for a fantastic vacation within walking distance. But of course, the county has plenty more to offer only a short drive away. A car is required for most excursions, as public transportation is non-existent.

Uride is a ridesharing app that served the PEC community, and a nice option to have if you're planning a night out that's beyond walking distance.

The nearby Millennium Trail is flat and well maintained which makes cycling another great activity and means of transportation in the county, and you can easily cycle to many wineries in Hillier using the trail. There are many bike rental shops in the county that will deliver bicycles, or visit Ideal Bike just down the street.
