This home was absolutely perfect for our trip. Spacious, well appointed with a beautiful sunny deck off the master bedroom. My only suggestion is a bigger coffee pot! Otherwise perfection.

Visited this home during a ski trip In January '26 with 5 friends. Place was comfortable and had what we needed to cook a couple meals when we wanted to stay in. There is neighbors but the other homes are far enough away that you don't even notice and feels more remote than it really is, which was nice. It's only about 15-20 mins from downtown, some of the Uber drivers weren't thrilled about driving the more remote area in the snow, but still managed to get us home no problem. Master bedroom/loft upstairs is very large with its own restroom. The one bedroom on the main floor and 4 bunk beds on the bottom floor all shared the restroom on the main floor. There was 6 adult men, so no one really cared about sleeping arrangements or 5 of us sharing the main restroom, but could be less ideal for other groups where couples are included. We got a fair amount of use out of the propane grill, hot tub, large range in the kitchen, countertop ice maker, espresso machine and chimney in the main room. Went to the second living area to catch the week 1 NFL playoffs, would have liked a TV in the main living area, but I understand most people are here to disconnect.Overall enjoyed our stay and didn't need for anything while there.

Thank you for such a detailed and thoughtful review! We’re really glad to hear the home worked well for your ski trip and that you enjoyed the balance of seclusion while still being close to downtown. It’s great to know the amenities—especially the grill, hot tub, kitchen setup, espresso machine, and extra living space—were well used and added to your stay. We also appreciate you sharing helpful insights about the layout and sleeping arrangements, as well as the winter transportation experience. That kind of perspective is valuable for future guests when deciding if the home is the right fit for their group. Your note about the TV in the main living area is also appreciated and understood. Thanks again for staying with us and for taking the time to share such an honest and thorough review. We’d be happy to host you again in the future!

I met five close friends from all over the United States in Santa Fe to celebrate my 50th birthday, and this trip quite possibly became one of the best weekends of my life — and this house had a lot to do with that.High Desert Hideaway felt warm, welcoming, and peaceful from the moment we arrived. It was beautifully designed while still feeling relaxed and comfortable, which made it incredibly easy for our group to settle in and enjoy being together. We stocked the fridge with groceries, cooked meals together, packed picnic lunches for our adventure days, and spent evenings gathered around the house laughing and catching up late into the night. Every cozy corner of the home got used — morning coffee chats, rooftop sunsets, quiet conversations tucked into little seating areas, and relaxing in the hot tub after long days exploring New Mexico. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was well-appointed for a group, and the entire property felt thoughtfully curated without ever feeling overly formal. The sunsets from the rooftop deck were absolutely unforgettable. The location worked perfectly as a home base for exploring Santa Fe, Madrid, and Taos while still giving us a calm, restorative place to come home to each evening.I would absolutely stay here again and would enthusiastically recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, comfortable gathering place for friends or family.
