About this property
River Views | Private Hot Tub | The Cherry Cabin
Sitting where field meets forest with views of the Union River, The Cherry offers a peaceful, accessible stay in the Maine woods. Styled like a classic Maine camp with modern comfort and clean design, it sleeps six: two bedrooms (queen + twin XL bunks) and a queen bed in the loft. A wall of windows frames the rapids, with a hot tub, smokeless fire pit, and 1.5 miles of quiet forest trails just outside. Private and woodsy, yet close to Ellsworth, Acadia National Park, and the beautiful Downeast.
The Cherry Cabin is equipped for comfort, quiet, and time spent well—whether preparing a meal, soaking under the stars, or watching light shift through the trees.
Inside, you’ll find a compact kitchen with an induction cooktop, mini-oven, dishwasher, and essentials for daily cooking. There’s a combination washer-dryer, a small desk and chair, high speed fiber internet, and a wood-burning stove for warmth and atmosphere. A mini-split heat pump keeps the air comfortable in any season. Upon request, we`ll put a smart TV projector + screen in your cabin so you can enjoy movies, sports, or shows from your own device or streaming platforms.
Beds are made up with organic cotton and Oeko-Tex certified linens and towels, and the bathroom and kitchen are stocked with simple, plant-based cleansers. The heat lamp makes getting out of the beautiful tiled shower almost as lovely as the shower itself.
Outdoors, the Cherry offers a private hot tub, a smokeless fire pit, a hammock (April-October only), a propane grill, and outdoor seating. Private parking includes an EV charging station.
The Cherry welcomes guests with well-behaved dogs. Dogs must be on a leash at all times when outside at Arbor Camp, and may not use furniture or beds intended for people, but we are happy to provide a clean bed just for them upon your request.
The loft sleeping area is accessed by a sturdy alternating tread ship’s ladder, handcrafted on site. Please use care when climbing. The loft may not be suitable for small children or guests with mobility concerns.
Please note:
Current rates reflect a significant discount as Arbor Camp continues to grow. While The Cherry is complete and fully private, you may hear or see construction activity elsewhere on our 30-acre property as we build additional dwellings. It’s an exciting time—the forest is shifting, new paths are forming, and you’re part of the beginning.
All indoor and outdoor features of the Cherry cabin are yours alone to enjoy throughout your stay—from the fire pit and hammock to the grill and private hot tub.
By booking you affirm that you have read and agree to the terms and conditions, particularly those regarding pets, damage, and smoking.

About the host
Your host
Arbor Camp began in 2022, when three friends came together to build a quiet place in the woods. Thirty acres along the Union River in Ellsworth offered the space—and the inspiration—for something lasting. The project was shaped by Maine’s camp tradition: simple, seasonal dwellings that invite stillness, comfort, and connection to the land.
From the start, the idea was simple: to create a place that feels good to step into. Each of us brought different experience—design, building, creative work—but shared a clear vision: spaces that are well made, deeply comfortable, and in tune with their surroundings. Arbor Camp grew from that collaboration. The result is a quiet retreat in the Maine woods, where time slows and the beauty of the landscape comes steadily into view.

Why they chose this property
Cabins and treehouses at Arbor Camp are spaced for privacy and quiet, and walking trails were cut by hand to follow the natural shape of the land.
Wildlife is part of daily life here. Songbirds call from the canopy. Heron and eagles pass overhead. Deer move through the understory, and turkeys wander the clearings. Mushrooms—chanterelles, black trumpets, and others—rise through the forest floor in season.

What makes this property unique
Tucked among 30 acres of private woodlands, each of Arbor Camp’s cabins and treehouses is designed as a place for restful delight in the Maine woods. Expansive windows frame views of sky and pines and the river beyond. Our unique dwellings stand apart, designed for you to enjoy the peace and quiet of the forest in beautiful comfort. Unwind in your private hot tub after days spent exploring Acadia National Park and all the cultural and culinary offerings of Downeast Maine. Read a book in the hammock, roast a marshmallow over the smokeless fire pit. Sleep on the beds we’ve built by hand from trees that grew right here in these woods. We’ve made a place for you to rest and delight in the beauty of the forest.
