About the host
Hosted by Andy Miller
Hi! My family and I are the second- and third-generation owners of this original Anna Maria Island home, which has been in our family for nearly 30 years. My parents were only the second owners and completed many thoughtful renovations early on.
For years, they enjoyed the home as a snowbird retreat, welcoming family and friends to experience the beauty of the island. As we live in Ohio and aren’t able to use the house as often as we’d like, we’re excited to now share it with other families so they can create their own special memories here.

Why they chose this property
This home is located on a quiet street in Holmes Beach, tucked away from the main roads and directly across from the peaceful canals. A scenic path along the water is perfect enjoying a leisurely stroll, and we often see visiting seabirds in the front yard—especially during the summer when rain puddles attract them.
From the house, it’s just a short walk or bike ride to the beach, and an easy ride to Pine Avenue for coffee, dining, and shopping. There’s also a convenient trolley stop at the end of the street, making it simple to explore the island without a car. We have ample driveway parking for your car or golf cart.
Homes on our street are either owner-occupied or rented weekly, helping maintain a calm, residential feel. The property also features a spacious yard with mature trees, where you’ll often spot geckos basking in the sunshine.

What makes this property unique
To be honest, right now she’s a little prettier on the inside than on the outside. We inherited the home from my parents in 2021, and after the late 2024 hurricane, much of our focus had to be on restoring the interior to make it livable again—so the exterior improvements are still a work in progress.
As one of the original homes on the island and not elevated on stilts, the house experienced about three feet of water on the first floor. This meant that much of 2025 was dedicated to careful renovations. Still, as we like to say, she’s strong and standing—and we were incredibly fortunate to avoid structural damage or mold. There’s something special about a home that has weathered back-to-back hurricanes and remains full of life.
This isn’t a cookie-cutter beach rental. It’s a true family home, lovingly maintained by us—not an investment group. When you stay here, you’re not just booking a vacation—you’re helping restore a home that means so much to our family and has been part of this island community for decades. Exterior updates are on the way, and we’re excited to continue bringing her back to life.
This was my parents’ pride and joy, and we’ve done our best to preserve its charming Old Florida character while thoughtfully updating what was needed after the storm. Our goal is to keep it welcoming, comfortable, and budget-friendly for families looking to make their own memories here.
