About this property

Timeless Days: Maine Coast Waterfront, Fisherman's Cottage With Deepwater Dock

A small proud home since the 1870's on the Port Clyde waterfront near Raspberry Island looks out on lobster boats at anchor and traditional working waterfront activities. About a 5-minute stroll along winding Horse Point Road takes you to the quaint village general store, post office, and ice cream store.

Purchased by Linda Bean as her own residence for several years, the modest home offers an outstanding deep water dock with seasonal landing float. Perfect for up to 40-foot boat, plus a secondary dock for kayak storage.

Furnishings are Stickley mission style in both living room and waterfront bedroom. All 5 rooms and bath upstairs have a view of the sea except the north facing twin bedroom, which features office hookups and long desktop appropriate for two people. Stacked washer and dryer upstairs for convenience, also clothesline for sunshine fresh sheets and towels. Another small building down the hill for afternoon thinking and late day cocktails provides splendid views of the sunsets from this location.

On a typical Port Clyde postage stamp lot with an old-fashioned one-car garage at top of the hill near the road. Kitchen herb garden with strawberries. Deck for outdoor grilling and relaxation. Indoor heat for cool evenings and year-round living. 1950's kitchen has not been touched with upgrades, original linoleum floor, and no dishwasher. Life the old-fashioned way. The former sunporch is now the dining room with window seat overlooking the grandest view in Port Clyde. Tiled fireplace designed by Linda, who named this location Timeless Days.

As part of our rental application, we do ask for two references from previous rental companies/agents/homeowners etc.

The water views were spectacular, and we enjoyed morning coffee on the deck watching the boats come in and out of the harbor. The property was clean and well-maintained, with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay.

Property was in a great location with amazing views, and I’m sure they would have been even better if the weather had cooperated! Everything we needed was provided, and it was very well maintained. We really enjoyed our time there.

One of the best rentals on the Maine coast

You won't find many properties like this on the coast of Maine....in perfect condition, spotless, on a fascinating harbor where you can see real lobstermen/fishermen (and women) working, with a simply extraordinary view from both inside and from the lovely deck.

Great location

Great location with waterfront access and walkable to the few businesses in Port Clyde. Spectacular views. It's an older property but well kept. Kitchen well appointed for cooking. Internet was stable and good. Would rent here again happily.

A Very Special Perch

We enjoyed our stay immensely at this sweet and comfortable little house. But the real show is outside. It’s perched perfectly above the waterfront, connected to water, sky, and endlessly changing panoramas throughout the day, all of them stunning and memorable.

Stunning View!

Spent a cozy Thanksgiving week in this beautiful home. The water views from this home are absolutely stunning. The active fishing village views over the Port Clyde harbor showcased wildlife, clear water, boats and trees. Watched two bald eagles from the wide outdoor focused windows both upstairs and down and from deck. The spacious property has beautiful landscaping, hope too see more of it in the warmer months in the future! The gas fireplace was a cozy feature, especially for November. Loved the retro kitchen that had everything we needed for a small Thanksgiving dinner for two. The bed was comfortable with a nice desk and sitting area in the bedroom. The single bathroom is upstairs and is clean and well stocked with L.L. Bean linens throughout. The staircase is narrow with taller than standard steps, but has a strong railing and is built to be sturdy. We enjoyed a short walk to the cute waterside village. We loved our stay at Timeless Days and hope to come back again.

Perfection!

I believe we had the best water view in Port Clyde. The house is wonderful, the grounds lovely and extremely well kept. The house is beautifully decorated, well appointed and comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bedroom views amazing. Outdoor spaces are many, each with its own character. The home is a short walk to the Port Clyde dock yet feels very private and isolated. Agent Veronika is extremely accessible and responsive. We couldn’t have wished for a better vacation. We hope to return.

Unbeatable Views and Outdoor Space!

This property is a gem. Stunning views from every window to watch the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The outdoor seating options let you enjoy the water views from every angle. The interior is as described and was very clean and comfortable. The steps are very steep and narrow, so just had to be careful going up and down. The home was well-equipped but could have used a few more items to get guests started (i.e. handsoap, coffee filters, additional cups). Besides that one small note, this property is a true 5/5 and would love to come back in the future!

Beautiful location

Had a wonderful stay at here. House is very clean. Both bedrooms & bathroom are spacious & nicely decorated. Beware the stairs are almost like climbing a ladder. Outdoor space is amazing. View from the deck & dock are unbelievable! My only complaint is the house is stocked with 3 rolls of toilet paper & 1 roll of paper towels. Paying almost $1,000/ night I think a few more rolls of both are warranted. I have to believe most people don’t abuse the extra products. The toilet paper shortage is over & adding a few more rolls of both would be a good idea.

Birthday in Port Clyde Paradise

While VRBO no longer allows owner contact before booking and is not as user friendly as other vacation rental platforms; Veronika, the property manager was very helpful with the booking process. My husband, water-loving Lab and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at with the spectacular views in both fair and foul weather and great gas fireplace. During storms we watched the waves roll across the reach through the picture window in the dining room/porch. On sunny days we grilled on the deck and read on the dock. The dog spent most of her Timeless days watching the diving ducks and basking in the sun. The house is classic Maine decorated in LL Bean's best beach cottage style. It has been lovingly updated and expanded, with plenty of room to sprawl. Although the high winds and warped frame made the oceanfront door in the master bedroom inoperable, the manager was responsive and we understood that sea air and hard usage makes door maintenance difficult. The property is clean and clutter free inside and out. The kitchen is well stocked with quality cookware and cutlery. The neighborhood is quiet yet neighborly. lt was a good base for our explorations. We enjoyed happy hour with the friendly folks next door and samis at Ancho Honey. Although the roads to Drift Inn Beach and Marshall Pt Light washed out during the storm, they were repaired by the next day. We romped on dog awesome Clark Island Preserve and Birch Pt Beach State Park. This is our favorite rental. We will be back.

Amazing sunsets, cute vintage cottage

We really enjoyed our stay at Timeless Days Cottage and our time in Port Clyde, Maine. The main thing to know is the cottage is in a great location, with beautiful waterfront views in the sleepy seaside town of Port Clyde. The cottage is somewhat rustic and small, but cute and functional. Cottage location – It’s on a small lot very close walking distance to the small town, and an amazing sunset facing view of the water. The property has a stairwell down to the grassy area and large private boat dock. It’s on a small waterfront street with neighbors that are nearby, but not right on top of each other. Seemed like a friendly neighborhood. The drive is shared with the neighbor to the right. The waterfront porch sits right over the harbor, in which several ships (both pleasure and working) are anchored. The ocean view faces west so you have spectacular sun sets most evenings. Also, the oceanfront weather is very cool to watch as fog is constantly rolling in and out. I recommend bringing a nice pair of binoculars or pick one up the nearby Walmart’s sporting section like we did. We saw a large bald eagle from the back porch one day. Cottage/Amenities – The cottage is nice but small. We stayed with our two kids. The biggest inconvenience to keep in mind is there is only one bathroom, which is upstairs, so there was a bit of a traffic jam for the four of us, especially when multiple people need to shower and get ready. Also, the shower is a bit dated, but sounds like it may be replaced soon. No air conditioning is the norm in Maine. Since the house is on the water, you can usually get a good breeze through, but there were a couple of days where it got a bit hot and humid, making sleep a bit uncomfortable. The kitchen is vintage, and no dishwasher, but that didn’t bother us too much. Just plan to buy some paper plates to keep the dishes to a minimum. The deck has a very nice grill and comfortable furniture. It can get a bit hot when the afternoon sun is brightest. Also, we got mosquitos most days right after the sunset, so plan to move inside if that happens. Bed and bedding was comfortable, but keep in mind the master has a queen bed (not king). Dining room has a huge picture window overlooking the sea, which we enjoyed every day. Rental company – Linda Bean’s Perfect Maine company seems to be prominent in the area, with an office near the general store. They provided good instructions for the rental and surrounding area. We had a couple minor issues w

Everything was perfect for us at this great property. The location is right on the harbor with views that never end. I rented with the plan of painting the scenery right from the property, it couldn't have been better. Very quiet and relaxing spot, we even had an eagle in the backyard. The house is cozy and comfortable, and we enjoyed the deck facing the water. Definitely want to plan to come back soon.

Another Wonderful Stay

This was my 3rd or 4th stay here, and my favorite spot in all of Maine. Even on a rainy or snowy day, it’s gorgeous. This is an older home with lots of charm, the most breathtaking views of the harbor, and everything you could need to enjoy time here indoors or out. I almost hate to add photos, as it will drive demand for this spot even higher. It’s just a stunningly beautiful space and it’s very hard to leave!
