Everything was awesome! From the pictures I assumed the house was directly on the lake. The property is in the lake and has its own dock and ramp which was great, you just have a small walk to the end of the property to get to the water. Other than that you could t ask for more. The host had great communication and did everything to make you feel welcome. I would definitely stay there again.
House was great for 3 families spending a long weekend at Lake Anna. The house was clean, well stocked and had comfortable beds. Huge lawn with a fire pit and tire swing was great time for kids to play and run outside. One consideration is that the area off the dock was very shallow- this was great for smaller kids but the big kids had hoped to jump off the dock. We still had a great time playing in the lake each day!
House interior is well equipped with really everything one might need. Rachel the host was very personable and highly responsive! AC and appliances worked very well and everything indoors appeared very clean. Generally quiet and peaceful (distant ? firing range sounds audible by shore). Outdoors could use improvement in terms of sweeping the decks and cleaning the grill, especially residual grease which is quite flammable. Fire pit nicely designed but no one picked up miscellaneous mallets and marshmallow prongs which were scattered, and wood was depleted but enough for our 4 nights. The 5-10 min walk to the lake is further than expected from the photos, and further than the properties on either side, but our family thought it was fine and the size of the property to the lake quite nice. The lake -during our stay the lake water at this distant finger was still, warm, and shallow with tree or pond debris intermittently accumulating, but many fish and a couple egrets. The shed near the communal dock really only had 1 usable kayak- which was new and wonderful, and one usable paddle boat, plus life jackets. Other stuff could be discarded. There was no reply to an email about renting a pontoon at the adjacent property which was privately rented so that part about available adjacent rental boats in the description seemed iffy.
