Everything was great, a cute Thanksgiving themed welcome gift greeted us in the kitchen :-)The kitchen faucet was loose but was fixed the next day after we arrived.
The place was great. Property Manager gave us his number and was accessible. Location is a short walk to the beach and Carlsbad Village. Love Monterey Gage!
Overall stay was lovely. Place was very nice. Would have liked to have instructions for 4 tv remotes :). TV screen in bedroom very small
Noisy due to train tracks nearby and lots of partiers in Surrounding area Saturday evening.
The unit was clean except for tiny ants in the bathroom and kitchen. Heard from other guests in same complex that they were having issues with the ants also. Supposedly the complex HOA was contacted to see about pest control.
The condo is well located, nicely furnished, and very comfortable. It has most everything needed, including lots of towels, comfortable bed, lots of dishes and cookware. I would definitely return here for another stay. My only small suggestions would be to fix the dripping kitchen faucet (it turns off but I had to play with the lever to find just the right spot), Kleenex, and food storage items would be helpful (Saran wrap, aluminum foil, ziplocks or the like). There was something in the checkin instructions about a lockbox but I couldn’t locate it but the door code worked fine and a key wasn’t needed. All in all a very nice place.

OK but not great
It was loud. The restaurant next door was playing loud music late night making it hard to sleep and the train blew its horn every 45 min. It woke us up through the night and early in the morning. The place was clean, but just was not as nice and comfortable as the other places we’ve stayed in town. The bed was really uncomfortable and squeaky. We went home exhausted. I probably wouldn’t stay there again.

Matt, thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We sincerely apologize for the noise disturbances you experienced, as this is certainly not the experience we want our guests to have. We are so sorry for any discomfort the bed caused. While it is in good working order, each guest has their own unique preferences. We encourage guests to reach out to us during their stay should any issues arise, as we are happy to remedy any concerns. We appreciate your feedback as a means to improve and hope to have the opportunity to better impress you in the future.
This is a fine and basic spot. If you want a simple place to stay in great walkable location this is fantastic. It has a parking spot, yet a bit tight to get in, so that is a plus. The furniture was simple and basic, but if you aren't going to be in the unit most of the time it won't be an issue. Yes, there is a train that runs at ALL times of day. However this is something that may be hard to avoid in the area regardless. My only concern is the slow response from the management team for an issue. I am glad it was a non-serious event as that could have been very problematic. No issues rebooking here again, but I'd also look at other options.

Substandard
The electricity went down in our unit and other units in the building. We promptly notified the host, a company called Vacasa, by text. It took Vacasa over 15 hours to respond. That response contained inaccurate information and no solution, and did not even offer to help find a solution.
Also worth noting: the train passes nearby and is very noisy, starting from very early in the morning.

A nice place to stay in Carlbad, but that train noise is a dealbreaker
Was in town for the Oceanside 70.3 race. A very convenient location, a nice building, close to the village center, etc. Nice amenities, although the a/c system is a huge kludge but functional. The parking space is tight if you have a larger SUV.
The biggest issue is the train noise. The train honks as it passes through the village crossing. It is loud. It runs basically til about 10:30 in the evening and from 5am in the morning. It will wake you up, and I am a fairly good sleeper. Even closing the double pane window and sleeping with ear plugs did not eliminate noise. To me this was a deal breaker, and not specific to this property - I think that it is an issue anywhere in the vicinity of the village center.
Otherwise, we had a nice time. Vacasa (the management company) was easy to deal with.
