About this property

Colline des Bois – Perfect for a White Christmas

Escape to your serene private retreat in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. Nestled on five acres of forest and meadow, Colline des Bois offers complete privacy, views, and the kind of stillness that’s hard to find anywhere else. The home is in outstanding condition and maintained to a high standard.

Inside, vaulted ceilings and large windows fill the living area with natural light. The spacious living room features a comfortable large sectional, wall-mounted Smart TV, and a nine-blade ceiling fan. Hardwood and slate floors complement the natural setting, and double doors open directly onto the expansive deck. Reliable high-speed Wi-Fi makes the home ideal for both families and remote workers.

KITCHEN
The modern kitchen is fully equipped for everything from a quick breakfast to a full Thanksgiving or Christmas feast. It includes Cuisinart appliances, matched cookware, sharp knives, and generous storage. You’ll also find a 2-in-1 coffee maker (drip and K-Cup, with iced option), French press, grinder, toaster, food processor, and electric kettle—all set on beautiful hardwood countertops surrounding a large central island.

BEDROOMS & BATH
High-quality mattresses and fresh linens throughout.
• The upstairs suite offers a king bed, private bath, handmade Amish hardwood dresser and nightstands, antique chest, and balcony with forest and meadow views.
• Downstairs bedrooms include remote-controlled ceiling fans with adjustable light temperature.

WORKSPACE
A quiet, comfortable desk area in the radiant-heated, finished basement provides a perfect setup for remote work or study.

WATER & UTILITIES
Water comes from our artesian well—clean, safe, and delicious. It was tested in July 2025, and lab results are available upon request. An automatic-start backup generator ensures uninterrupted comfort during any power outage.

DECK & PORCH
Step outside onto the enormous deck, which includes open and screened sections plus a covered porch furnished with Adirondack chairs and a hammock. Enjoy morning coffee in the sun, relax in the hammock, or gather at the firepit under clear night skies for unforgettable stargazing.

OUTDOORS
The property borders Danville’s protected watershed—no visible neighbors, total privacy, pure air, and deep quiet. Kids will love the large swing set, and adults will appreciate the calm and clean mountain air. Everyone will be enthralled by the brilliant nights filled with stars.

GUEST ACCESS
You’ll have private access to the entire home and the surrounding five acres. Check-in is simple and secure with a digital keypad.

The fully equipped woodworking workshop, located about 250 feet from the house, is reserved for owner use but can be made available upon request.

My family and I live in Montreal where I work in the aviation industry.

Why they chose this property

My wife and I have lived all over the world for study and work, but we always wanted to put down roots in New England, where she’s originally from. I grew up on a remote ranch in northwestern Colorado, so quiet, open spaces have always felt like home. We fell in love with Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom for its beauty, serenity, and rustic character. After years of searching, we finally found Colline des Bois — our second home for now, and the place where we plan to settle.

What makes this property unique

Colline des Bois offers true Vermont tranquility — five private acres on a quiet country road with no other homes in sight. The house is modern, impeccably maintained, and designed for comfort in every season, with radiant heat, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a Tesla-compatible Level 2 charger. Thoughtfully equipped and run by an owner with a background in the hospitality industry, Colline des Bois combines privacy, quality, and authenticity — a place that feels both secluded and genuinely cared for.
