The rental was exactly as listed. It is a really cute space with a great garden space. When we arrived, it was very clean, cozy, and exactly as advertised. It is really well located to places to eat and is still within walking distance of downtown. The host was very communicative and helpful! If I am in DC again, I would definitely rent this space again.
The property was basic and that's all we were looking for. It's more space than a hotel room and it was cheaper so it worked for our purposes. Don't expect a ritzy DC and you'll be happy with the space provided. There were wires coming out of random holes and the outlet in the bathroom was taped to the wall. The mattress in the front bedroom was very slim on a metal frame so not super comfortable. It worked for a place to sleep where we weren't on top of each other like a hotel room. That's what we were looking for. The hosts were kind and responsive for the most part; sometimes it would be awhile before they would respond. If you're looking for easy access to the subway, it's a 17 minute walk.
This SUPER cute and cozy basement apartment was the perfect stay for my mom and me. We came to D.C. for 5 days for a trip to celebrate a family member's graduation from GW University. This spot was a great location to local food, groceries, 2 convenient metro stops, and lots of fun places to explore. The apartment itself was so comfortable - homey and stylish. It was super clean and organized. Everything was easy to find and use. There were so many things stocked for us, if needed -- such as some toiletries, coffee, ice in the freezer, filtered water in fridge, extra blankets, towels, TP, laundry units ready for use, etc. I also loved that both bedrooms were on opposite sides of the apartment so that if someone snores, you have plenty of space not to disturb other guests. For the price, this was huge. It was hard to find 2 bedroom spaces that even had official bedrooms with doors, so this was an added benefit (as my mom and I are both light sleepers). Also...can we talk about the water pressure?! This was one of our favorite things! Such a great shower! We also love the outdoor quad/patio area. It wasn't really blooming this time of year or anything, but such a chill vibe, with a bench swing, lights, privacy. My mom and I talked about wishing we could just copy and paste this whole unit to some land back home...I'd live there in a heartbeat! We would DEFINITELY stay here again. To top it all off -- Lauren, our host, is super sweet, communicative, and accommodating. Thank you!
Location to Metro was very walkable and convenient. The two separate bedrooms were nice; however there was no pull out couch which we had planned on for a third person. Some electrical outlets did not work in the kitchen so it was difficult to use the coffeemaker. ( I moved it to the bedroom!) However for the location and the price it was what we needed.
The location is about 1.5 miles from the Capitol. It was very convenient to walk to the National Mall. Lot of places to eat on the way. Host was able to accommodate our request to drop bags off before check-in so that we could go site seeing. Grocery store close by about 10-12 minutes walk.

Hello, my name is Lauren and I have lived in DC for the last 10 years! It’s a vibrant place with always something to do and somewhere new to eat! Our place is pretty central and extremely walkable!
Why they chose this property
We are smack dab in the middle of so many neighborhoods and you can easily walk to most places! In any direction you walk you will find a grocery store and numerous restaurants as well as little grassy areas for picnics.
What makes this property unique
The basement is a great two bedroom apartment with many comforts of home. A great perk is the backyard. It’s a private oasis (shared with two other units) that has bricked walls so it’s an escape from the city. Hanging out or having dinner with some peace while you enjoy the outdoors
