Freshly Renovated Corner Studio With View of the Ocean

Welcome to our tastefully renovated and decorated Kihei Akahi studio D-301, that we affectionately call “Our Pearl”.

BOOK with CONFIDENCE
Kihei Akahi is a Hotel-zoned property and is not subject to the new Maui County regulations regarding the phasing out of short term rentals in apartment zoned properties.

Kihei Akahi is located directly across from three of South Maui’s most beautiful beaches, Kamaole I, II and III. All three of the Kamaole beaches have lifeguards, showers and restroom facilities and are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, boogie boarding/body surfing, walking, playing volleyball or just hanging out and enjoying the warm sun, perfect water, swimming with giant sea turtles and watching the magnificent whales from late December to early May.

What sets our studio apart from the other studios at Kihei Akahi are the upgraded polarized dual pane vinyl windows (no jalousies) and a dishwasher (only studio to have a dishwasher).

The Kihei Akahi complex has beautifully maintained grounds, two pools, bbq grills, a tennis/pickle ball court and is centrally located within walking distance to several fine restaurants, shopping and activity centers. Our condo is located at the back of the complex away from the road noise and has a private feeling with great views.

From our private lanai you have the benefit of 180 degree views of ocean, the island of Lanai, stunning sunsets during the summer, West Maui Mountains, sun and moon rises and the leeward slopes of the mighty Haleakala.

Being a corner unit, the additional side window provides good light, views of Haleakala and a wonderful breeze that flows through our condo.

You will have the most comfortable and relaxed stay in our condo. We have updated our unit with new decor and furnishings: a dining table that can seat 4, a Beautyrest World Class Brentford Luxury Firm Queen Size Bed, a sofa, a comfy chair, a lanai set and a beautiful custom made tv armoire that has 2 closets and drawers for your clothes as well as extra storage space for your luggage when you unpack and settle in.

For your indoor entertainment, we have a 39' smart TV.

There is a hanging pot rack with a full set of cookware and the gas range is great to cook on with a microwave/fan/light above it. In addition to a coffee maker (we provide the filters), there is a tea pot, a blender, a toaster oven and a spice rack complete with spices. The refrigerator is full size and we are the only studio in Kihei Akahi that has a dishwasher.

When you head out to the beach there are 2 Tommy Bahama backpack beach chairs for you to use, a Tommy Bahama beach umbrella, beach towels and a cooler with wheels. There are also plastic cups, plates and utensils for you to take to the beach or the pool, as well as to use in the condo.

Great Getaway

We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment had everything we needed including a great view from the Lanai. The beach chairs and umbrella worked great and it is a good walk to a great beach with restaurants and shopping also in walking distance. We have already booked ourselves for another trip next year!

Great in every way!

The owners are great, the location is perfect. The pictures of the property don’t do it justice. Everything you could need is provided, very well layed out space, cozy and comfortable. We loved our time here and would definitely come to stay again.

Comfortable and convenient

The most amazing thing about the property is the ocean view from the lanai. I knew it had one from the pictures but it's much better in person. We watched the sunset from there looking for the green spark. The place is clean and comfortable and comes packed with a lot extra things you can use to help ease your trip. I recommend it to any single person or couple looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay.

Great location with everything you need

This condo might be small but the owners have maximized the space and storage so you have everything you need and it feels larger than it is. It was great to have an actual queen size bed with night tables in a studio apartment. The owners provide meticulous instructions about the unit and the resort so finding things was very easy. The beach chairs and umbrella looked new. Contacting the owners was also very easy. The unit is on the quieter side of the building with 190 degree spectacular views of West Maui and Mount Haleakala (and a sliver of the ocean). The resort is in a great location, across from KAM II with many shops and restaurants within a 15 min. walk. Would definitely rent this unit again. Thanks Becky and Mark!

2 Weeks in Paradise

We expected a beautiful stay in Maui but were so very pleased with the unexpected comfortable, peaceful, and feeling of being at home in this cozy nest. Being in the very last building away from the street noise/activity might make you think this place is isolated. You are from the hubbub but the lanai lets you know you are in paradise. Surrounded by lush tree tops full of beautiful flowers alive with chattering birds, mountain tops on both sides, and the ocean before you, this is a prime location. Every night when we weren't on the beach watching the sunset, we were on the lanai feeling the magic of Maui. This is labeled a studio but it has everything you need at your fingertips. Becky and Mark have thought of everything. No need to go anywhere else if you want a remarkable visit to Maui. This place is the best!!

This little condo was perfect for us.It had everything we could possibly need (beach towels, chairs boogie boards). The kitchen had everything you need for preparing food. The washer and dryer came in very handy.Oh, and the queen bed was very comfy and had really nice bedding.We had all the privacy we needed and the neighbors at the pool were friendly.The brochures, coupons and maps left for us was a nice touch that came in very handy.The restaurants, shops and beaches were all close by and we took advantage of them all!We also got pleasure from the many birds outside and the beautiful foliage.Becky and Mark were so helpful and personable. I felt like they were friends. Many thanks to them. If we could, we would still be there. When we come back to Maui we would love to stay there again.

An Absolute Gem

We could not have been more pleased with our rental. The room is much more spacious than we imagined, and the amenities were head and shoulders above the other units. We enjoyed having the beach right across the street, and appreciated being in the building the farthest off the road. It was the perfect balance of convenience and privacy. The owners were very attentive, and truly wanted us to have a pleasant stay. There was a communal car wash area near the parking space that provided quick access for rinsing off things, as well as a rinsing station closer to the main office. The unit had tons of storage. We never suffered the fate of tripping on an open suitcase or stumbling over a beach chair. The kitchen and bathroom are well equipped. More so than most rentals. There is a nice breeze that comes through int he evening, and that really helped keep things cool. A word of advice: make sure to bring a paperweight of some sort on to the balcony with your "light" reading. My fiancee lost a menu to Bistro 808 to the winds, and when he later retrieved it he found it with a few crosswords that suffered the same fate from someone else's lanai. The views are stunning, the owners wonderful, the unit charming, and I wish we had not had to leave. This place is an absolute gem, and I am so glad we we stayed here!

No finer vacation property at Kihei Akahi

I stayed here over 4 yrs ago....just after Rebecca purchased it and put her refined aesthetic on this perfectly located ocean and Haleakala view studio. Every year there after I tried to rent it but it’s incredible popularity kept it tied up by the time my work bosses approved my leave. I retired i this past July and could lock this pearl of a place up for me. It has faired well these past 4 years in Rebecca’s capable hands. The owners are everything that us vacationers hope for: courteous, kind, professional and superb in their communication! I MUCH prefer the Studios at the Kihei Akahi because they are on the corners, their bedroom does not back onto the noisy public corridor, the air conditioning cools the entire place. But, here’s what makes this particular condo STELLAR: it has double pane windows and slider, it is the ONLY studio with a dishwasher, it has ceramic tile floors (no icky wall to wall carpet), it has comfy furniture, the ceiling fan is whisper quiet, and the shower is nicely sized with no hard to clilmb over tub. Please eat at 808 Bistro..don’t waste your money at Fred’s or Moose McGuiluckuty’s (loud, poor service, mediocre drinks, poor food. 808 Bistro is in same building but all the way in back. Great sunset menu, view, superb bar and the service that sets it apart...try their pork tenderloin, any of their fish (so fresh). Please use Pacific Whale Foindation for ALL your ocean excursions! I miss Mark and Rebecca’s condo nest. Hopefully I will be back very soon🤙🏻

Ocean View Elegance

Elegance without extravagance Location trumps all the pluses of this delicious condo. Perched on the 3rd floor at the shaded quiet end of the secluded 'D' building is the ocean view sanctuary. This studio waits to embrace the solo traveler or couple. It is tropics savvy with its tile floors, silent ceiling fan, and cross ventilation. I enjoyed my morning coffee on the lanai greeting Haleakala, the visually spectacular dormant volcano whose name means "House of the Sun". It is rare to find accommodations that give you an ocean view and a view of Haleakala plus those sweet West Maui Mountains. Everything offered at this condo was top notch and functioned admirably. The condo's cleanliness was superb. All photos and descriptions were accurate if a bit understated. The AC is rarely needed but the low fan setting makes a lovely white noise for sleeping in since this condo has excellent polarized double pane windows allowing the hushing of the tropical bird morning serenade. The stairs are easy and close to the condo...I prefer them for getting to and from the reserved parking space, pool and bar b q...plus the exercise is good for us. The elevators are convenient, quick, and clean. I have used VRBO for over a decade and seek out these vacation rentals that have that vital quality of hosts who genuinely care about their visitors experience. Becky and Mark embody the clarity, professionalism and kindness that make them a joy to work with. Buy your fresh fish at Eskimo Candy to Bar B Q on the poolside gas grills. Also, save money by buying your grass fed steaks at Whole Foods and searing them poolside and take them back to your private lanai for a treat of a dinner. Local farmers markets are the freshest way to experience Maui foods! When you go out to eat go straight to 808 Bistro tucked in behind Fred's next door to the Kihei Akahi...their pork tenderloin and all their Ahi and Mahi Mahi recipes are spectacular. Their soups (yes, soup I the warm tropics!) are so luscious I want to lick the bowl ;-). Oh, their breakfasts are wonderful, too. Use Pacific Whale Foundation for all your snorkel, whale watch and dinner cruises. They are convenient, well priced and truly care about these oceans and their inhabitants. The snorkeling off Kam II, the beach across the street, was fun. I also like Makenna Landing for its diverse underwater reef system, sea turtles and scenery. Maluaka Beach is great for snorkeling with sea turtles...neat fish, too.

I had a wonderful stay at this condo in Maui! The place was very clean, comfortable, and quiet—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The location was also excellent, making it easy to explore the island and enjoy everything Maui has to offer. In 2002 we vacationed on Maui with our two sons, fell in love with Maui and moved to Kihei the following year. Having lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for 20+ years we truly appreciated the sunny days, perfect ocean water and never tire of the beautiful sunsets and rainbows.

Kihei Akahi is close to everything that one needs to relax on Maui. Three of the most beautiful beaches (Kamaole I, II and III) are across the street. There are restaurants, shopping and activity centers within walking distance. The grounds of the Kihei Akahi are well maintained, are filled with lovely tropical flowers, plumeria trees, breadfruit trees, banana trees, palm and monkey pod trees. The birds that also call Kihei Akahi their home will sing to you throughout the day!
