This property was beautiful and close to everything!! The home was very comfortable and clean. We loved the Mountain View! Would definitely stay again.
The location of this rental was excellent, providing quick and easy access to town and the Smoky Mountain trails on the NC side. While the area is beautiful and the host was responsive to our messages, the property itself did not live up to its 'exceptional' ratings due to several maintenance, and safety issues.Communication & Arrival:Despite the booking stating check-in info would arrive 3 days prior, we received nothing until the day of arrival. No instructions were provided on how to find the house or use basic amenities. We had to repeatedly contact the host to get the WiFi password, figure out why back porch lights would not turn on, and operate the outdoor fireplace.Health & Safety Concerns:We encountered a serious health hazard: an air vent was covered in fiberglass insulation, which blew into the living space every time the heat turned on. Additionally, the bunk beds were quite wobbly, creating a safety concern for those sleeping in them.Comfort & Amenities:The beds were not very comfortable, and the kitchen is nice but shows use; the pans and baking sheets were so old and worn they appeared impossible to clean properly.Summary:We left the home in great shape, but the lack of preparation, the uncomfortable beds, and the fiberglass issue made for a disappointing stay despite the great location. We hope the owner addresses these maintenance and safety items for future guests.

Bea, I am sorry our property was not up to your standards. However, many parts of your review are inaccurate, and I would like to address those:
1) Instructions were provided on March 18 - three days prior to your arrival. For safety reasons, the door code is not provided until 1-2 days prior to check-in. I specifically recommended Waze to find the home. Other direction applications are not always accurate.
2) The wifi password is on the listing and was shared.
3) You turn on the porch light by pulling the cord on the light/fan. I explained this via message immediately.
4) The bunk beds are not wobbly. But they are bunk beds made for children or average sized adults, not large adults. My husband is 190lbs and has had no issues. We've received many positive comments on the bed comfort, but that is, of course, personal preference.
5) The kitchen is fully stocked and new pots/pans/cooking utensils are ordered annually prior to the summer season.
6) FInally, there is no issue with the fiberglass insulation. You shared this with us after your visit, so we were not able to confirm this with our maintenance team. Our handyman went out the day you sent this message, again, after check-out, and there is no issue. It is safe, and your health was not at any risk. I will be following-up with VRBO on this matter.
The home was in okay shape when you left, but I would not categorize it as "great shape." My housekeeper follows-up after every stay. I wish you the best in future stays. Thank you.
Nice location quiet yet close to town easy access to activities whether going to national Park rafting train rides or Asheville. I would recommend bringing your plug-in for a charging cord as there is no USB but other than that it was a great house. ( We forgot our plug in) It has a really nice game room if you have kids video games ,pool table also a hot tub although we did not have time to try it out. there was adequate dishes to cook dinner with as we cooked in every single night. Also a nice gas grill.! We would rent again if in the area.
