Exceptionally private, sleeps 13 in various configurations, first floor master bedroom is massive with a king, bedroom next door is another king. 2nd floor boasts a king bedroom "without windows", 1 double plus 1 twin bedroom and loft has 3 singles for kids. 2 living room/TV entertainment areas. A fully equiped kitchen and living, dining room open plan with a center view up to the second floor. The high quality 1 piece 12 seat dining table is sure to be the family gathering point. Floor to ceiling windows give serene woods and peak of lake views. The terrace off the living room grants views of the lake partially with outdoor seating and gas fire pit.
Just across the sleepy dead end dirt road, just 350 feet walk on a paved drive door to door, are 3 very private Acres and the setting for an exclusive 2 large bedroom contemporary bungalow cottage, center living room, full open kitchen is literally on the waters edge with a private dock and deck literally on the water. There is 1 master with a king and a 2 singles bedroom with ensuite full bathrooms each. The driveway is a U shape with the cottage at the end with ample outdoor parking. Both the main house & cottage is virtually totally refurbished in 2023, all new linen and towels you will need along with all kitchen utensils and dishes. High Speed fibre optic WiFi, and 5 new TVs in total with most apps installed.
Both properties of 194 & 195 Branchview Drive are included in the listing. However, in the "Leaf Peeping" season from September through to end October, I would consider offering just the main house or especially the cottage for rent. Message me or write me to discuss.
Branch lake is known as one of the top rated lakes in Maine for its water purity and very unique sparse population as its the watershed for Ellsworth. Less than half the lakeshore is developed, especially the Southern end, making one feel wonderfully cutoff from civilisation! A very scenic 30 minute drive takes you into the famed Acadia National Park or just 25 minute drive to Fort Knox in Bucksport to start a must do memorable drive along the coastline down to Camden with all the roadside charm and antique shopping.
We also operate "Mainguy's" which sleeps 12/6 bedrooms with an additional 2 king bedded apartment upon request, which is one of the most popular homes on Branch Lake for its location and amenities just off Route 1, center lake location, deep water frontage with a dive tower, small beach, lakeside fireplace and exceptional knotty pine interior with top of the line appliances. Look up "Waterfront, Family Retreat up to 12, Acadia National Park, Coastal Maine, Camp" that we have been operating for over 15 years on VRBO. We call it "Mainguys". The property manager of both is Jessica Dow and can be reached on her cell phone at 207-902.3895.

An amazing 2 bedroom lakeside house that was perfect for our little family of 3. A week on the water with a relaxing patio was just what the doctor ordered. Thanks for wonderful experience on beautiful Branch Lake. We will be back!
The property was incredible. Peter and Heather were fantastic hosts. Our family loved the lake access. It is a bit far from Bar Harbor if you plan to be there often during your trip.

amazingly appointed modern cottage
We loved our stay! We had our 16 and 18 year olds. The place was beautiful, immaculate and had so many windows. The lake was crystal clear. Peter and Heather were very kind and left kayaks, paddle boards etc for our enjoyment. The sunsets from the house were amazing. We would definitely go back!

About the host
Hosted by Peter Mainguy
I am currently the General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton Millenia in Singapore and have been in the hospitality industry for 40 years throughout Europe, Africa, Middle East/Gulf and now Asia. I consider Maine home and will eventually stay there once my career ends. I love Maine for it's topography, people, fresh air, simplicity, wilderness with key infrastructure at your doorstep along with the incredible charm of the coastal area between Bar Harbor and Camden.
Why they chose this property
I went to Husson University in Bangor Maine. Having grown up in Europe, I had never seen such pristine wilderness within reach of major infrastructure at an affordable price. I fell in love with the idea of owning a camp on the water immediately and call it home as I travelled the world. I finally found a place on Branch that ticked off all the boxes and over the years, built it from its simple seasonal beginnings into my idea of what a lakeside camp should look, feel like and offer. That one is 327 Phillips Way, located on the other side of the lake and sleeps 12 to 16 persons. This cottage came with a main house across the street and was just irresistible being on the same lake and just ticked off all the boxes.
What makes this property unique
Again, besides the incredible location, lake centered, the lot is surrounded by the best homes on the lake, just inside a stellar bay. The proximity of the very large sand beach and boat launch just a 1/2 mile away give this property an edge. Mornings are exceptionally tranquil with picturesque sunsets in the evenings. The moments of sipping wine at the lakes edge or enjoying a beer will forever be etched in your memory. Branch Lake is essentially a giant well with its deepest point of 124 feet!
