Welcome to the Culp House Getaway, a beautifully preserved 1795 home just one block from Gettysburg Square. Once owned by Jeremiah and Rebecca Culp, it served as a refuge for wounded soldiers during the Battle of Gettysburg, with a back room converted into an operating space. Today, the home blends historic charm with modern comfort, offering guests a warm, timeless, and unforgettable Gettysburg experience.
Our home is located only 1.5 blocks from Lincoln Square, you can easily walk to the battlefield, museums, shops, cafés, and restaurants.
Inside the home, you will find five beautifully decorated bedrooms, all located on the second floor. The sleeping arrangements include two king bedrooms and three queen bedrooms, each designed with beautiful decor, soft linens, bedside lighting, and alarm clocks with built-in sound machines to ensure a restful night’s sleep.
The kitchen is a fully equipped gathering space that includes everything you need for cooking—cookware, dishware, and utensils—and also offers a generous selection of coffee essentials, including both a Nespresso machine and a Keurig. We have a refrigerator/freezer, oven and stove, microwave, and dishwasher. The dining area within the kitchen comfortably seats six, with room to add additional chairs if needed, making it a warm and welcoming place to enjoy meals together. On the first floor, we also have a comfortable and spacious living room. There are two sofas, each seating up to three people, along with a table and four additional chairs. This room is perfect for playing games, watching TV on the 55-inch screen, or sharing memories with loved ones during your stay. In our backyard, we have an outdoor fire pit. This is a great spot to unwind after a day of exploring Gettysburg!
For parking, guests may use the two-car garage, with space to parallel park one additional vehicle directly behind it. If more parking is needed, the Racehorse Alley Parking Plaza offers convenient public parking just 1.5 blocks away.

This Home could not have been better!!! They thought of everything right down to the Q-tips!! 5 prefect bedrooms, Enough seating for Everyone. The kitchen and bathrooms were stunning, very clean and provided everything you need. The home is in Walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, and plenty of things to do. We will definitely be staying here again.
The Culp House was fantastic. The Hosts were responsive, accommodating and thoughtful with welcome goodies for our kids. The rental was in good location for walking to town. It felt authentic with enough historical aspects to add to the trip, but was very updated for comfort. The backyard and fire pit was one of our favorite spots.
We just spent a long weekend with our family at this house and everyone loved it, including the grandchildren. The living room and kitchen are right next to each other and are very large, perfect for eating and hanging out. The house predates the Civil War and keeps alot of that charm, while the kitchen and three full bathrooms are all modern. Also, the house was super clean and they provided everything you need, plenty of towels, sheets and a stocked kitchen. Then there's the location, just a block and a half from the main square in Gettysburg with so much to see and do, and so many great restaurants and bars that is all walkable. We also spent a day at Liberty Moutain for some skiing and snowboarding, which is less than 20 minutes away.York Street is busy at times, so we did use white noise for sleep in the front bedroom, but we are already planning our return trip. Highly recommended.
Wow! This house is so perfect! It is immaculately clean, very spacious and has the most comfy bedrooms. The kitchen truly is gourmet and the living area is roomy and comfy. We had 4 couples and we had plenty of space for alone time and socializing . The house is beautiful and historic. It has a great outdoor space. It is perfectly located for everything Gettysburg. And the owner is very responsive and gracious.

My husband and I met in Gettysburg while I was attending the college, and he grew up in the area. Gettysburg has always held a special place in our hearts. We’ve made so many memories here, and now with a baby and two dogs, visiting Gettysburg has become one of our favorite things to do as a family.
This home already holds so many wonderful memories for us, and we can’t wait to share it with you.
