Arrive via a half-mile driveway lined with organic apple trees and friendly deer. This 30-acre farm retreat is just 10 minutes from downtown Gettysburg yet secluded and peaceful, surrounded by wineries, orchards, golf courses, shopping, skiing, antiques, and more.
Sit on your private balcony overlooking the pastures where you’ll see horses, donkeys, Highland cow, pygmy goats, deer, wild turkeys, and other wildlife.

Guests are welcome to enjoy our rescue animals: horses, donkeys, pygmy goats, barn cats, Highland cow, chickens, ducks, and geese. Children love helping with feeding (treats available for purchase from our son).

Our 6-person hot tub is available as an add-on.
2 nights – $150 flat fee
3–5 nights – $200 flat fee
6–8 nights – $250 flat fee
9–11 nights – $300 flat fee
Additional Notes
Dogs welcome ($150 per dog, flat fee). No cats.
Property is professionally cleaned between stays (black light inspections for pet accidents).
As a farm/orchard setting, harmless pests (stink bugs, field mice) may occasionally be present despite regular extermination.
Safety: No ATVs or motorbikes permitted.
Cameras: Ring doorbell (front parking area) + exterior camera (driveway).
Checkout procedures required (strip beds, take trash out, put away dishes).
Signed rental agreement required.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Must sign rental agreement Must do departure procedures upon check out Take out trash, clean dishes, put furniture back where you found it.
Dinner parties are events if you go over the 14 rule guest count. Provide photo Id and selfie, match the name of the booking guest and Credit C

It was amazing, somehow it was even better the second time around. The house has everything you could possibly dream. The owners are super friendly and responsive to the guests needs. The setting is stunning and so close to many interesting places to visit. Five Star experience, WOW!!

Everything fulfilled our needs for an enjoyable family get together vacation of 6 adults and 7 kids. Kitchen with everything and grill for eat in breakfast and dinners. All served at a roomy table for 13! Inside pool was perfect for hot sunny days and one rainy evening. Kids entertained with all the animals and game room. Hot tub was also a hit. Relaxing end of day sitting around the campfire. Proximity to Gettysburg was perfect for history experiences, eating out and the candy store. House was clean and adequately furnished. Elizabeth was a great host and enabled enjoyable family vacation. Thank you!

The house, grounds, location, & amenities were beautiful & as advertised. We enjoyed a relaxing family gathering while having plenty of games & activities to do as well. The animals & ability to feed them was a great bonus. Elizabeth was accessible and answered questions promptly as needed(although there wasn’t many). The information binder upon arrival was very helpful. My kids suggested updating the animal pics as there was a second cat (not pictured in the book)that they wanted to know his name. Definitely a great spot, well maintained, & helpful hosts.

Magical Winter Escape

From the goats, donkeys, horses, and the friendliest cat around to the accommodations, we had an incredible stay. The home was more than well appointed. Very clean, and all the extras were a plus. The pool and hot tub were a welcome respite after a day of chasing kids around on skis. Great kitchen to enjoy a family dinner and breakfast. We will definitely be back! Thanks to Elizabeth for being such a great host.

Great getaway for our family

It was very relaxing and nice getaway for the family! The kids enjoyed all the animals and being a deer hunting family, it was exciting to see all the deer every morning and evening from the back deck!! The pool was also great for the kids especially since it was so hot while we were there!

Amazing house

Our stay (reunion with college friends and spouses) was wonderful at The Big House! The owners took great care to have the place ready when we arrived. The space was big and roomy but very cozy! Highlights were the pool, the fire pit and the amazing views of the sunrise and sunset each day. I could go on and on but just know that you won't regret booking this place - it's an amazing home and experience!

Amazing pool house, farm experience, and close to Gettysburg and parks!

We had a fantastic stay - the kids loved the pool, we enjoyed feeding the animals w/ Vaughn's snacks, the house was jam-packed with games, karaoke, etc., and we had a great visit to Gettysburg and nearby state parks. The setting & view out of the main hall is majestic - took some good panos! - and overall, our summer stay was a huge success, and we'd love to come back.
