The screened-in porch has a double glider rocker, a cafe table with chairs, and three outdoor wicker chairs to relax on. The house sits on a larger lot with a wide lawn that kids can play ball on, throw the frisbee, etc. It's attractively decorated in a fun beach themed style. Bedrooms 1 and 2 have queen beds, and bedroom 1 has a wall-mounted TV; bedroom 3 has a twin trundle bed with memory foam mattresses. The kitchen is fully equipped with coffee maker, French press and hand and electric coffee grinders, blender, microwave, a good knife set, and all kitchen tools.

About the host
Hosted by Margaret Sharp

Our family now lives in Goldsboro, NC. We lived in Virginia for over 30 years, but moved for work, and the added benefit of living only 1 1/2 hours from our beach house!
Why they chose this property
We have vacationed on Emerald Isle for over 25 years. My husband and I were married on the island in 1998. For years we dreamed of owning a beach house at Emerald Isle, and in 2012 we were able to make that dream become a reality!
What makes this property unique
We chose this cottage because it felt like a real beach house, not a house that just happened to be built at the beach. It is open and bright, with a great floor plan for hanging out. The house was built in the 1970's and was renovated by the previous owners. We have continued to update the cottage with new appliances, flooring, heat pump, the outside shower and dressing area, adding on the screened in porch, new windows and siding.
We were able to meet the original owners a few years ago, when they drove by to see the house. The elderly woman and her daughter were pleased to see that "their" house was being lovingly cared for and enjoyed.
