In addition to the lake, our rolling countryside includes creeks and the Juniata River offering many options for the nature-lover. A vacation in Raystown will be one to remember for years to come. And you may want to re-visit multiple times during different seasons! Can't take a week off? Visit us for a long weekend or, even better, come during the week for a discounted price! We rent by the night (2 or 3-night minimum), the week, or the month from April 1 thru December 1 (weather permitting). Weekend rates are slightly higher than weekday rates due to demand. We may rent by the month with the rate dependent on the month(s) requested. Polite pets are welcome but there is a small nightly fee.
Relax and unwind, enjoying the natural surroundings inside and outside of this cabin. The cabin address is 5017 Whitehaven Lane, Huntingdon, PA 16652. We are located 7 miles south of Huntingdon. We are 5 miles from Allegrippis Trail for biking enthusiasts and Seven Points Recreation area at Raystown Lake for water sports. The distance to Juniata College is about 8 miles (15 minutes) and Penn State main campus is about 37 miles (45 minutes).
There are convenience stores nearby as well as a full-service Walmart within 10 minutes. You won’t find a lot of nationally-known restaurants other than fast-food in Huntingdon. But we have some wonderful Mom & Pop eateries with yummy food, coffee shops (some with drive-thru), beverage distributors, pubs, and quaint retail shops in our surrounding towns.
The cellular service in the area is pretty reliable with Verizon offering the best signal.
Our setting is a 6.5-acre wooded property and the cabin is semi-private with other cabins about 125 feet away. Guests are expected to stay within the open and wooded areas of their respective cabins. All guests have access to the shared driveway for walks with humans and furbabies. Multiple cabins can be reserved by groups for gatherings and all cabins are listed on this website. Our cabins are completely furnished with most of the comforts of home, much like a small house.
The living room has upholstered furniture and offers cable TV, internet/wifi and there is also a DVD player. The kitchen includes a full-size electric range with oven, full-size refrigerator, microwave oven, coffeepot, toaster, cookware, dinnerware, and utensils. The dining area has a table with 8 chairs. 2 bedrooms are on the main floor, one having a king bed and the other having a queen bed. The third bedroom upstairs has 4 single beds. The bathroom on the main floor has a shower with tub, toilet and sink. We provide pillows, blankets and bedspreads. Guests bring their own sheets and towels. We provide toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, dish towels and a bath mat.
Outside the cabin you’ll find a covered front porch with a picnic table and stacking chairs. Beside the cabin there is a charcoal grill and campfire ring. Raystown Lake is a popular waterway in south central Pennsylvania, stretching 29 miles long. The surrounding area is owned in large part by the federal government with several state-owned parks and forests close by. It is a wonderful area to spend a family vacation with popular attractions including caverns, railroading, horse-back riding, lake cruises, boat rentals just to mention a few. For golfers, Huntingdon Country Club offers a public golf course about 4 miles north of us. Volunteers have created the Allegrippis Trail which is popular with biking enthusiasts. There are 3 different trails so that anyone from beginner to expert can enjoy the ride. There’s also a skills park across from the visitors center where you can stop for all sorts of info on the way to Seven Points Marina. Fishing tournaments are frequently held in the area. During your stay, you may be blessed to see a bear swimming across the lake or a bald eagle returning to its nest.

Sweet spot in the mountains with rustic charm
Enjoyed our stay during February. Nice cabin with essentials provided. Sits atop a big hill or small mountain and in between Raystown Lake and Penn State, which was important to us. Owners were excellent communicators. Would stay again.

Nice place. Clean, old style authentic cabin in a nice location between Huntingdon and lake Raystown. Great for mountain biking weekend being only 4-5 miles from the main trailhead. Great deck area. Nothing fancy and maybe not beautiful place but just what you need to get away. Host is quick to respond to any text questions.

Thank you, Chris. We're glad your group was comfortable at our place!
We came for a fishing tournament at Raystown and this was closer and more convenient than staying at a hotel. It is rustic and vintage, but the bedding and cabin were clean, shower water pressure was strong and hot and it had everything needed to cook our meals.

Comfy, cozy, cabin in the woods. The property is wonderfully secluded in a rustic relaxing setting. The cabin was the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long day of fishing.
Linda is a wonderful host as well! Thanks again for the clean up after the storm.

Great rustic cabin within 10 mins of Seven Points Marina
My family and friends stayed over Labor day and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is a rustic cabin with all the modern amenities. I found it to be clean. As a camper I enjoyed being tucked in the woods and feeling remote yet only 10 minutes from Seven Points Marina. We did have two pontoons with us that we parked at Jim's Anchorage for the weekend for $25.

We're pleased that you had a good time. With 2 boats, it was probably best (and more convenient) to find parking closer to the water. Since our property is more wooded than open, it becomes difficult to maneuver multiple boats along with cars and trucks.
We had an amazing time doing nothing, cutting out this crazy world around us and catching up! We have come to the conclusion that this will be our first annual weekend and we are already talking about setting a date for next year. Thank you

Thanks for your review and happy you got a chance to relax. We look forward to hosting your group for many getaways to come!
We enjoyed our stay, it was so relaxing and private. No interruptions, it was great! Nestled in the woods and yet, so close to everything. Don't worry about Wi-Fi, if you have Verizon, I had great cell service. The place is clean, kicked back, no worries. I especially loved hearing a rooster in the distance. We would like to stay again. Thank you Linda!

Our annual Veterans Day hike was a washout…this was the perfect last minute rain break for us to still hang out with friends. Played Risk, Poker and card games on the porch. When the rain was not pouring, we spent time around the fire.
The house everything we needed and our hosts had everything in good order for our arrival. It exceeded our expectations and would highly recommend for a getaway. Thanks to our hosts for a great stay.

Bob, so glad we could "rescue" your weekend! Please visit again!!
It was nice to have it meet our expectations again this year. Still a quiet and private location. It rained so we didn’t get to enjoy the outside spaces, however the TV, two couches, and large dinning table were plenty of space for us to enjoy quality family time. Plenty of space for our little chihuahua to run around too. The 4 single beds upstairs are great for the early sleepers to turn in early, shut the door and allow the late night talks to continue in the living room. Linda is great with communication and again was able to accommodate our late check out. Thanks so much!

Beautiful property, great host!
A group of 8 of us stayed at Cabin #2 for the weekend. The cabin proved to be plenty spacious and even when it rained the covered porch allowed for plenty of room to be outside. The area around the cabin is beautiful, a nice quiet getaway! It is also a great location being that its not too far from either Huntingdon (Juniata College) or Raystown Lake. The owner was extremely accommodating for us, letting us check in early and check out late. When an item was lost in the house and we could not find it she went out of her way to search for it so we would not have to pay for a replacement. She went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay!
