Heron’s Hideaway is a waterfront retreat on Partridge Cove, close to all that Acadia has to offer and spacious enough to bring your extended family or a large group of friends. Set on 5 acres, with a home spanning over 3,500sq ft, you’ll have plenty of space to spread out, both indoors and out.

Take in sunset views over the cove as you wander out through the tall ocean grass on a custom-built boardwalk leading to the fire pit – with seating for all. Cozy up inside to the newly built propane fireplace with a plush blanket and a good book. Shoot hoops, test your video game skills or see if you have just the right touch to score big points at shuffle board or ping pong in the game room. In the warmer months, you can grab a kayak and you may find a local harbor seal swimming nearby. Play yard games on the gently rolling lawn that sprawls out between the patio and the ocean. The outdoor patio features a hot tub and coming this Spring we’ll bring out the propane grill, propane firepit table and outdoor dining for 15.

By mid-summer 2026 we’ll also have a new dock with improved kayak accessibility and deep water access off the property.

For those who appreciate special considerations for mobility, the property offers a sprawling first floor, with the primary kitchen, dining, living space, game room and bedrooms all on the first floor. For anyone with difficulty climbing stairs, we offer an electric stair climbing chair for the one staircase in the house. There are several walk-in showers, including a step-in seated whirlpool spa tub for those who want a private spa or bath experience without the need to climb into and out of a tub. The immediate surrounding property is flat, including the patio, which features our outdoor patio dining area for 15. A section of the patio is covered to shield from the sun and rain.

Downstairs, we have 3 king bedrooms and one bunk bed room with a full over a queen. Upstairs, we have a king suite with a twin tucked back in the corner; attached to the king is a separate bedroom with two twin beds. There are 3 full bathrooms downstairs and 1 full bathroom upstairs.

We have plenty of local wildlife if you are hoping for a sighting. You are sure to see some combination of deer, seals, eagles, falcons, herons, porcupines and possibly an elusive coyote or fox.

Located 25 minutes to Acadia National Park on MDI, 35 minutes to Bar Harbor, 45 minutes to Acadia’s Schoodic Point in Winter Harbor and 10 minutes to the local conveniences of Ellsworth (groceries, restaurants, shopping).

This property is located near a reversing tidal falls (where ocean tides force the bay’s current to flow backward) that can affect access to the property by boat, depending on the tide level. Please be mindful of the tide schedule when taking kayaking excursions. A full tide schedule is provided at the house.
