About the host

Living in South Beach throughout the 90's I visit the Florida Keys often. I loved the vibe, the turquoise blue waters, the fishing, the diving and incredible food. I always wanted to live in the Keys but life brought me back to my home state of Ohio in 2001. I did the next best thing and bought my first Keys vacation home in 2009 and turned it into a vacation rental. I enjoyed it so much I turned this passion into a business with the help of my wife Mary, and today we own 5 beautiful vacation homes in the City of Marathon.
Why they chose this property
I wanted to build a home walking distance to the beach, with great water views and a protected dock for boats. I found that special place on Tingler Island in 2012. Located at the end of Tingler Lane, Tingler Island is a gated community with just 10 homes, super quiet with ocean view - and it was just one block from beautiful Sombrero Beach. It took me only 10 years to get a permit and 3 years to build - and it turn out as fantastic as I thought it would.
What makes this property unique
The are so great beaches in the Florida Keys and finding a home near the beach is nearly impossible. This is why I set out 15 yrs ago to find that perfect property. 300 Tingler Island is just one block stroll to Sombrero beach on a gated private island. The home itself is a $4M customer home with all the luxury finishes and features that you'd expect in high end home. Balconies and ocean view everywhere you look, a large saltwater pool, and fenced in for your furry friend. There's 100 of canal behind the home for your boat and in less than a minute your on the Atlantic ocean ready to fish, dive or relax.
