About this property

3 Bedroom Monthly Rental- in historic Montford neighborhood, close to downtown.

Enjoy Asheville like a local by staying in one of its most desired and historic neighborhoods flanking downtown.

This is our sole home, not a vacation rental, that we make available during our long summer travels. We had managed our downstairs suite as a popular rental for close to 4 years, but for a stay of a month or longer, we are offering our entire home, including the suite (it will not be rented separately during your stay).

We love our neighbors and neighborhood, and you will too!

The space
Originally built in 1990, our home doubled in square footage with our new extension in 2018 creating the Master suite, and lower level guest suite which could function as a bedroom, rec room, or work space. The main kitchen was remodeled in 2022 including new appliances.

The upstairs has a master suite with an adjustable King bed, walk-in closet and full bath. It also features a window seat with views of the wooded back yard. It is right off the room we call the 'sunroom' because of the bright big windows. There is an additional bedroom with a twin bed and a half bath upstairs as well.

The basement suite has its own ground level entrance, but also connect via internal stairway. The downstairs bed is a queen bed, bathroom, lounge and kitchenette. We have also had renters use the downstairs as their home office. One of the upstairs bedrooms functions as our home office (without formal beds), and could be used as such for remote workers.

Several outdoor spaces on different sides of the house allow for shaded lounging at different times of the day, driveway is wide enough for 2 vehicles.

As our "lived in" home, you'll find kitchen appliance and laundry amenities readily stocked. There's a closet full of games, toys, puzzles, etc; along with local information sources. We'll empty out the closets for your clothes, but our family photos / art will remain on the walls. One of the office rooms (not pictured) will be locked off to store our private things; all other spaces will be open.

Other things to note..
During summer months, you will more than likely have fresh veggies from our garden beds!

Other things to note
We think "residential" travel is one of the best learning experiences for ourselves and our young son, hence we typically try to take advantage of our remote work ability to go and stay in a different region / country, much in the same way we love Asheville - living in a walkable neighborhood as a base to get to know a city and a region.

The city of Asheville requires a month or more stay on Whole House short term rentals, so that is the minimum. We have rented through other platforms and can provided references if you'd like!

We are a small family who enjoys travel and exploring our own city. Working from home, we make it a point to go 'live' somewhere else to experience different parts of the country and world.

Why they chose this property

We love this neighborhood and consider it one of the best neighborhoods in Asheville. It is quiet, historic, yet still close to town, and other parts of town. Our neighborhood is friendly and welcoming.

What makes this property unique

The neighborhood makes this a special place, and we also put a lot of love and work into it over the years. You can walk to downtown through beautiful neighborhood streets in about 30 minutes or less, as well as the botanical garden, greenways and local restaurants.
