Historic 3BR near Light Rail / Game room, Capitol view
Step into a stunning historic row house just 4 blocks from the Minnesota State Capitol. With 3 bedrooms, multiple living spaces, and a game room, there's room for your whole crew to gather - or find their own space. Soak in the clawfoot tub, take in the Capitol dome glowing at night from the loft, and enjoy the back patio. Just 2 blocks to the Light Rail - MSP airport, Minneapolis, and downtown St. Paul are all minutes away.
We love this house for its rare combination of historic character and modern comfort. Built in 1888, the home retains its original hardwood floors, exposed brick, and soaring ceilings - details you just can't replicate. The loft is our favorite room - from the east window you can spot the Capitol dome glowing at night, and from the west it feels like looking out from a castle tower. Wind down in the clawfoot soaking tub, challenge your crew in the game room, or gather around the long dining table under the original timber ceiling. This house has soul.
The whole home is yours to enjoy. Here's how it's laid out:
- 1st floor: Kitchen, living room with TV, dining room, game room, half bathroom - 2nd floor: 2 bedrooms (full and queen size beds), living room with TV, shower room (no toilet) - 3rd floor: An open loft/bedroom (queen and twin beds), lounge area, a work desk, bathroom with a clawfoot tub (no shower) - Backyard: Patio with seating and a garden - Basement: Laundry
The house requires 2 flights of stairs to access all the bedrooms.
Gig-speed Wifi throughout - perfect for streaming, gaming or remote work.
Getting around couldn't be easier from this house - the Light Rail is a 2 block walk, connecting you to MSP airport, Allianz Field, US Bank Stadium, The University of Minnesota and downtown Minneapolis. The Minnesota State Capitol is 4 blocks away, Grand Casino Arena is 5 minutes by car, and University Ave's legendary pho and noodle restaurants are right around the corner.

We loved the character and history of the property. Being a home built in the late 1800s, it has great charm, design, angles and uniqueness. Located close to the Cathedral and Capital. It was also close to St. Paul and Como Zoo, along with having quick access to the thruway for trips to Minneapolis and our family in White Bear Lake.

Why they chose this property
I like how this area has a neighborly feel, but is still close to everything - Downtown, sports venues, historic sites, parks.
What makes this property unique
I like how this house feels like an oasis in the middle of a pulsing city. You can relax here, and then go out and enjoy the city. Plus, this home’s history is incredible: an East Coast-style row house with original hand-forged bricks. We’ve enjoyed adding our own touches to many updates made over the years.
