Stayed here for a work trip and the house was exactly what we were looking for…. well-kept, close-but-not-too-close to the beach, quiet dead-end street with ample driveway parking, away from (but not too far from) the chaos of the beach during the summer, plenty of places nearby to get good food and beverage, and a great host. Plus I didn't have to donate a kidney to be able to afford the nightly rate. The owner did a great job with the renovations and it was perfect for us. Everything was clean, check-in was simple, the bathrooms and the kitchen (and really all of the rest of the living spaces) were beyond expectations, and there is a nice large backyard and patio out back if you merely want to sit out and relax and enjoy a quiet evening. Why anyone would stay in a hotel/motel near the Jersey Shore is beyond me when houses like this exist. Looking forward to hopefully staying here again, possibly sometime in the fall on my next work trip. Thanks again. -Jim

My family and I stayed here for a wedding we had at Abbie Holmes Estate (only 10-15 min drive). There is a mister softee and bagel place right down the street. The property is beautiful and everything was very clean. It’s on a quiet street that allowed us to have time to relax. The host was very responsive and left us detailed instructions for check-in, our stay, and check-out. I would highly recommend this place for family vacations!

I am a local who grew up here, an owner of vacation homes in the area (and other places). I have traveled the East Coast extensively, it is easy to say that no beach town I have ever visited stacks up to what is offered here. Quiet and serene, plenty of great dining, a variety of drinking establishments and ample things to do. I like redoing homes, the build and design and sharing them. Please ask me if you have requests or need an opinion on items you are interested.

Why they chose this property

A local friend who still lives in Stone Harbor bought a house in "Court House", the idea was to VRBO it. They loved the town so much, he uses it as a winter getaway (4 miles from his summer house.) He told me the town has revitalized itself, tons of out of towners were buying up the real estate. He went on to relay all the new restaurants, so I spent my anniversary in town.

I ended up getting a flat tire, stuck on a donut until Monday to get a new tire, so we hung in town a lot and caught a few Ubers to some of our favorite beach towns. I discovered parking was easy, Ubers were plentiful and that was a big concern for us. We like going out, each town has many reasons to visit and our access to each was better than ever.

Wow, this town was great, the dining was varied and superb and walking around admiring the historic homes was peaceful. We discovered all the unfamiliar places in this town and how easy it was to get to other towns via Uber. I like the quiet here, devoid of crowds, and absent from the noise, it was very chill. Breakfast, the brewery, tavern and seafood market just hooked me.

Growing up here, when I sold my Stone Harbor house, it was bitter-sweet....but I was just burnt out on my favorite town. I went on to buy homes from FL to VA, but those areas, while new and interesting, they fell short. Being so close to Stone Harbor beaches and all the other towns, which are all different, provides the variety I enjoy.

What makes this property unique

Real Estate is about location, location, location! I just fell in love with the town and I looked at a few homes; they just fell short. I wanted to be able to walk into town, get away from the hustle and bustle that comes with the beach towns. It is nice to walk on the beach in the am, walk home after a night of fun with friends but I hated the noise, traffic, long waits for dinner and I experienced the good and bad.

I was on vacation, in Rincon Puerto Rico (another great town) and saw this listing come up. I asked my friend/realtor to check it out, along with my builder buddy who recommended the town and they said it was a project but had potential.

I came back, saw the home, that potential and fell in love with the location. After a 9-month renovation, some sweat equity, and a lot of work from local contractors and family - we have a home that is admired by local friends in the building trades. These guys make a living building multi-million-dollar homes on the islands, they loved what we did and I am confident you will as well. You will pay much less than on the island, enjoy a beautiful home and have the entirety of Cape May County at your disposal.
